The State JUST took another $$5.8 MILLION DOLLARS $$ to “study government-run Health Exchanges”

This brings the total ObamaCare dollars taken by South Dakota to nearly $$$ SEVEN MILLION DOLLARS $$$…. but the Governor assures us this is NOT imposing government health care on South Dakota taxpayers.

One has to ask, then, WHY does this administration need a manager to run a health care exchange and supervise a staff of at least 3 people?

Other states have refused or returned the money.  Not South Dakota!!!  instead, South Dakota is taking the lead, being one of twelve states to begin the process of imposing government-run health care on its citizens.

According to the Governor’s press release,  The United States Department of Health and Human Services notified the State of South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation today that it has been awarded a $5.8 million grant to continue research into the possibility of a state-run health insurance exchange.  The state applied for the grant in March, 2012.

The evidence is growing… with every million taken from the Federal government earmarked for “healthcare”.

“Receiving this grant does not change our plans.”  Gov. Daugaard said in his press release.

Really…. if we are NOT putting government health care in place, what is South Dakota doing with the $7 MILLION dollars??

President Obama, the gay evolutionary, by announcing his epiphany on same-sex marriage has empowered the sexual deviants that adore him. Their allies, the liberal elites are flexing their pathetic muscles and will now openly try to intimidate anyone who opposes them.

They have already tried to intimidate Congressman James Lankford (R-OK), but they picked on the wrong guy. Last week, the far-Left’s Think Progress tried to ambush Representative Lankford on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which gives special workplace rights to homosexuals and cross-dressers.

In a Think Progress’s video, the interviewers ask Representative Lankford if he could “support a law that says you can’t fire someone for their sexual orientation, similar to protections for people on gender?” The Congressman replied that “Race and sexual preferences are two different things. One is a behavior-related and preference-related and one is something inherently–skin color, something obvious, that kind of stuff. You don’t walk up to someone on the street and look at them and say, ‘Gay or Straight?’”

The crew pressed him more, asking if he believes people are born gay. “Do I personally? No. I don’t. I think it’s a choice issue. Are tendencies and such? Yes. But I think it’s a choice issue.” That day, Think Progress posted an outright lie as its headline, suggesting that Lankford wants to make it “legal to fire someone for being gay.” Of course, he never said that–but Think Progress never lets a little thing like the truth get in the way of a good story. Since then, the Left has launched an all-out smear campaign against the Oklahoma Republican, hoping he’ll back down. He hasn’t, not even when threats to his office started pouring in. “Businesses hire and fire people based on their performance at work, not in their private lives outside of their work,” he said.

The entire episode has been a case study in liberal tactics. Time and time again, the Left tries to bully or intimidate people into submission on their agenda.

Do a majority of Americans really support same-sex marriage? “Maybe not,” the Washington Post admits.

For years, headlines have screamed that society is open to redefining marriage. But every time the theory is put to the test at the ballot box, it’s proven wrong.

Thirty-two times, voters have gone to the polls in some of the most liberal states in America and rejected same-sex marriage.  Most recently in North Carolina, a constitutional amendment won by 22 points.

Now that President Obama has literally made a federal case out of marriage, the reaction is even more severe.

Although the polling has been manipulated for years, even some media elites are conceding that the support for same-sex marriage just isn’t there. Yesterday’s CBS/New York Times survey showed that only 38% of Americans agree with the President’s position. An ABC News/Washington Post poll backed up the trend, pointing out that 47% responded unfavorably and 46% responded favorably. According to the Post, those numbers include ” a 10-point tilt toward ‘strongly’ negative (38%) rather than strongly positive (28%) views.” Independent voters were especially opposed, with most leaning toward a strongly negative reaction.

Republicans should be tripping over themselves to champion traditional marriage. Instead, they’re racing to change the subject on an issue that won an average of 67% of the vote in a supermajority of states.

Ignoring marriage isn’t just spineless–it’s politically naive. Americans care about the economy and marriage. Surely, the GOP has enough time to fight for both.

On Saturday at a commencement speech at Liberty University, Mitt Romney got it right.

He connected with social conservatives when he said that while we may have theological differences, we share core values. Romney picked up on the message that energized Rick Santorum’s campaign: America’s financial greatness is directly tied to its moral and cultural wholeness.

The presumptive GOP nominee said:

“The American culture promotes personal responsibility, the dignity of work, the value of education, the merit of service, devotion to a purpose greater than self, and, at the foundation, the pre-eminence of the family.”

“As fundamental as these principles are, they may become topics of democratic debate. So it is today with the enduring institution of marriage. Marriage is the relationship of one man and one woman.”

In so doing, Romney seized the opportunity to stake out his position on key social issues, including religious liberty, at one of the largest conservative evangelical events in the country. He continued, “It strikes me as odd that the free exercise of religious faith is sometimes treated as a problem, something America is stuck with instead of blessed with… There is no greater force for good in the nation than Christian conscience in action.”

It was a good day for Romney and for religious freedom.

When it comes to human rights, we have copious writings of the visionaries that established this great country.

Strange then that when I consulted my copy of the Declaration of Independence which I carry in the right side inside pocket of my suit jacket, I did NOT read:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, the pursuit of happiness and single payer universal healthcare which must be purchased under penalty of law.”

Similarly, in my regular study of the Holy Bible, I have not encountered any reference, directive or even a mention of  single payer universal healthcare which must be purchased under penalty of law.

These facts lead me to believe that faux visionaries have foisted the hoax on all who will listen that single payer universal healthcare which must be purchased under penalty of law is a human right.

Single payer universal healthcare which must be purchased under penalty of law is, of course, NOT a human right. Health care is a privilege and a preference. It is not a right to be claimed at the expense of other citizens. Not everything that we desire is a right. Those who claim a right to everything, soon find out that they have a right to nothing. The real rights of men and women are being eliminated by an over-reaching, self-serving government which sees as its destiny to control and subjugate its citizens by making them entirely dependent on government.

Ironically, the shrinking of government and its thirst for regulation, control and dominance would likely make the privilege of healthcare obtainable, at least for all that will work.

New Jersey and South Dakota are very different.

So are their Governors, when it comes to ObamaCare.

Governor Chris Christie just VETOED legislation that would have begun the march toward ObamaCare.

“I am concerned that a hastily created exchange in New Jersey will impose unnecessary obligations upon the state’s citizens,” Christie said in his veto message. “I believe the better course of action … is to continue to monitor the ever-changing landscape surrounding the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, and to refrain from imposing its mandates upon our citizens until outstanding issues are settled.”

Governor Dennis Daugaard has taken a much different approach.

He has taken the lead to implement ObamaCare in South Dakota.  Beginning with two laws last year to make South Dakota one of only TWELVE states to embrace ObamaCare, Daugaard has already taken a cool million dollars from the Federal government to establish a “health care exchange”.

The health exchange is a key component of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act.

We heard last week that the Daugaard administration has now made application for another $4-6 million dollars for FURTHER implementation.

The latest comes from MSNBC’s Martin Bashir. Bashir has been on the wrong side of religion for a long time.

Some Republicans are taking their commitment to make budget cuts seriously. This means cutting bloated and unconstitutional programs. When a conservative politician talks about cuts, liberal religionists go into action. Instantly, the Bible becomes important. In his interview with Representative Joe Barton (R-TX), Bashir uses the Bible to support his claim that government programs are good for the poor. He sees a government directive in Psalm 146:

“How do you square your approach to the words of Psalm 146, where the Psalmist writes this: ‘He gives food to the hungry, the Lord protects the foreigners, He defends orphans and widows.’ this the exact opposite of the cuts that are being proposed by Republicans in Congress?”

Note #1 to Liberal Bashir: Psalm 146 says that it’s God who gives food to the hungry, not the State. Bashir would probably come back and argue that government is God’s agent to give food to the hungry. But there is no directive in Scripture to use the power of the State to accomplish the goal.

Note #2 to Liberal Bashir: In the same Psalm there is a warning:

“Do not trust in princes,

In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation.

His spirit departs, he returns to the earth;

In that very day his thoughts perish.”

(Psalm 146:3–4)

The hungry have been trusting in princes for decades, and what has it gotten them? Many of them are warehoused in housing projects where there are high rates of violence, drug addiction, and illegitimacy. In an attempt to free them from hunger, the State has made them slaves who are only good for the next election.

The presidential election in France is over and the Socialist Francois Hollande has defeated conservative incumbent Nicolas Sarkozy. There is a lesson to be gleaned from the French election.

Crowds filled the Place de la Bastille, as they did in the French Revolution. They were celebrating Hollande’s victory, waving French, European and labor union flags because they believe they have a clear path now to continue the irresponsible orgy of spending and exploding social programs while running up astronomical debt. Hollande wants even more government stimulus, and more government spending in general, despite concerns in the markets that France needs to urgently trim its huge debt.

Hollande intends to modify one of Sarkozy’s key reforms which will expand the entitlement mentality beyond its current bloated state. He also plans to increase spending in a range of sectors and wants to ease France off its dependence on nuclear energy. He favors legalizing gay marriage.

Sound familiar?

Here’s the lesson for US voters. France has reached the “tipping point” where the takers, the users, the lazy non-productive scammers that feast on the taxpayer’s teat outnumber the productive members of society. They are enjoying their sloth, their total dependence on the government at the cost of their freedom. They are ready for the plunge into the abyss of totalitarian socialism.

We have just one last chance in November. We must cut off the serpent’s head in November. Elect Conservatives not Republican wishy-washy “let’s all get along” moderates. We are in the 4th qtr, the 9th inning, the final period……it’s too late for compromise.

Dump the arrogant Obama. Maybe the cowardly, impotent, dependent French will hire him. The French would be enslaved now if not for American blood on their soil.

They will soon again be occupied by Islam.
