Senator Ted Cruz doesn’t think do. He expresses the frustration of many people when he says he doesn’t trust Democrats OR Republicans. Obviously, there are some trustworthy Republicans. Unfortunately, there aren’t many of them… particularly in leadership positions. Democrats openly support more taxes and more spending. They support abortion and work to advance the homosexual agenda. Republicans are, indeed complicit in these policies. They just do it by compromise and “negotiation”. Senator Cruz speaks clearly. He represents American taxpayers, who have had their fill of both parties.
We all remember how the Jews were forced into ghettos during World War II. Nor can we forget how peasants and minorities have historically been “bottled up” in urban slums, often in alleys. Better control that way, the ruling elite undoubtedly thought. But more and more, ghettoizing has been taken over by progressives who, ironically, prefer to segregate certain protected groups. Art Alley in Rapid City, South Dakota, is a good example of this cultural force at work. “Stay in the alley where you belong,” the progressives seem to echo again. “Don’t even think of raising your standards or expectations.” Graffiti becomes the higher standard, not the art found in museums and art galleries. Swearing might just as well be touted as the new oratory. “Ebonics is just fine,” liberals assert, and gangsta rap is as good an art form as any other in this new world of moral equivalency. Trouble is, there is no higher standard, nothing to shoot for, nothing to measure the good and bad by. Whatever lot you’ve found yourself in, that’s good enough, the way it should be. Isn’t Art Alley just another form of ghettoizing?

Many Republicans have supported the increases as a means by which to “buy votes” for the Farm Bill. You may be surprised to learn that 80% of the money for the “Farm Bill” is for food stamps and other government nutritional programs. Here is how it all works: 20% of the dollars from the “Farm Bill” are used for ag-support. BUT… to get that through Congress with the essential votes from Legislators from urban areas, the pot must be sweetened. There has to be something in it for them. IF the ”Farm Bill” has merit, it should stand on its own two feet. It should pass because it’s good policy, or fail because it’s bad policy. Sorry, Washington DC doesn’t work that way. The Heritage Foundation shared this: The food stamp portion creates a reason for urban representatives to support farm subsidies, and for farm-state lawmakers to support food stamps.

The Heritage Foundation shared this:

The food stamp portion creates a reason for urban representatives to support farm subsidies, and for farm-state lawmakers to support food stamps.

Talk of de-politicizing agriculture programs and welfare policy is met with stiff resistance. For example, Senator Thad Cochran (R–MS), ranking Republican on the Senate Agriculture Committee, recently told the North American Agricultural Journalists group that food stamps should continue to be included in the farm bill “purely from a political perspective. It helps get the farm bill passed.”

If you agree with farm subsidies that’s fine. If you disagree with farm subsidies that’s fine. The point is, to “buy” votes to get legislation passed is a significant problem. The “Farm Bill” is just the tip of the iceberg. It is just business as usual in DC.

It is time for leaders to do what is right for America, not what “works” in Washington DC.

Increasing America’s debt ceiling isn’t negotiable. That’s the message from the White House. Like it or not, the President will have an increased debt ceiling. According to his Secretary of Treasury, Jack Lew, the White House simply won’t allow anything less than a larger debt ceiling. The Secretary said, “We will not negotiate over the debt limit.” He continued by saying, “The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate.” The President and his big-spending friends want us to believe that America will not “pay it’s bills” if we don’t allow them to spend MORE money. It is painfully obvious to rational minds that this problem has a solution; CUT SPENDING! There is no need for America to default on debts, if the President and Congress will CUT SPENDING. It is time for them to make the hard choices and reduce the amount of money they are spending rather than continue to increase it. Attempting to spin this spending increase as being fiscally responsible is another example of the deception used by the left. They want citizens to believe that spending more money [...]

That’s the message from the White House. Like it or not, the President will have an increased debt ceiling. According to his Secretary of Treasury, Jack Lew, the White House simply won’t allow anything less than a larger debt ceiling.

The Secretary said, “We will not negotiate over the debt limit.”

He continued by saying, “The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate.”

The President and his big-spending friends want us to believe that America will not “pay it’s bills” if we don’t allow them to spend MORE money.

They want citizens to believe that spending more money is the only way out of the crisis of debt they (Congress and the President) have created.

It’s nearly unbelievable that so many people would simply accept the false premise that America’s creditworthiness will be destroyed if we don’t spend (borrow and spend) more money. Exactly the opposite is true. Our creditworthiness can only be preserved by spending cuts… REAL cuts, not just reducing the amount of increased spending. It is the policy of tax more-spend more that has already resulted in America’s credit rating being lowered.

Will Americans believe this new lie?

Hi, my name is Edelia Waldrop and I was asked to write about what it’s like to be homeschooled. Most people probably think homeschoolers don’t work that hard because our parents don’t care. In some cases that may true but that’s not the mindset for most homeschooled families. My parents would have more time for other things if we went to public school and we would probably be better behaved for our teachers and not give them attitude! Also, another misconception people have is that parents homeschool their kids to shelter them and when they graduate and move out homeschoolers are shocked because of drugs, alcohol and other negative influences. This may be true in some ways but in my opinion, it’s far better for kids to be protected and sheltered than to be exposed to such terrible issues at young ages.

My brother and I weren’t always homeschooled. We began our education at public school for the first two and three years and then started homeschooling when I was beginning 3rd grade. “Why?” you may ask. It’s because our parents didn’t want us influenced negatively and we came home each day with a lot of homework. They asked themselves, “What are the kids doing at school for seven hours a day when they come home and have to do another hour’s worth of school each night? Why are other people spending more time with our kids than we are?” Our family is closer together than if we all attended public school. We are more involved in church functions, 4-H Clubs, visiting friends & family, taking trips, playing games and doing projects and other activities far more than a lot of other families.

There are things about public or private school that are good – there are also difficulties with homeschooling. But each kid is different and each situation unique – each family has to make their own best decision based on their specific circumstances. My mom’s job gives her the flexibility to homeschool us and my dad’s job often allows him to be involved two days a week or more. I enjoy being homeschooled and am glad that it has worked well for my family to be homeschoolers!

With the failures of “No Child Left Behind”, and the new assault on education by “Common Core”, perhaps more families should consider homeschooling.

We should no longer accept things we cannot change. It is time to change the things we cannot accept.

For too long American pulpits have been intimidated, bullied and supressed from preaching the Bible without fear of Government reprisal. American pulpits must now be radicalized to stop the constant deterioration of the moral fiber of our great nation.

Courageous clergy must begin immediately to preach the Bible without fear of losing the tax exempt status that Washington, D.C., hangs over their heads. Passive and compliant homilies have enabled the moral decay of America. The unborn are slain “legally” without regard for God’s law, yet few pulpits are outraged. Some pulpits sanction, support and encourage homosexuality despite the declaration in the Word of God that it is an abomination to Him, yet few pulpits are outraged.

Liberal policies that enlarge the size, scope and power of the government, create involuntary poverty and promote the dependence of people on the government for subsistence are ignored in the pulpits. Our pulpits must become radicalized for God and exhort the children of God to stand opposed to the Government’s march to deport God from America.

Veterans in the past expected trauma and mental anguish as part and parcel of being in combat. They all came home to encounter rough transitions from one world to the other. It was part of what war was about. You did your duty and personally absorbed the anguish, which would diminish with time.

True PTSD should be anchored in wartime mental trauma that peers would confirm as being obvious and accurate. Even Marine officer Philip Caputo in A Rumor of War says becoming a blubbering idiot isn’t even enough. You’re supposed have lots of fear during combat. As Caputo recounts in “Philip Caputo on PTSD and Combat Cowardice,” a tough-love sergeant forced one such casualty to pull himself together, save his personal dignity, and not leave the battlefield with an official mental stain on his record.

PTSD is becoming the welfare sweepstakes of choice for many veterans who welcome a lifetime of disability payments if they can only claim some mental anguish, the same “goes with the turf” conditions that former generations would “grin and bear.” Now cooks and clerks who heard a distant shell burst or saw a dead body from a vehicle feel impaired. You just have to be a good actor and stick to your story.

If everyone who goes “off to war” becomes entitled to a disability payment for mental anguish, then war will become too costly. Isn’t this what the anti-war faction really is pursuing as a goal? Escalating “salaries” is often tied to the same motive. Four-fifths of soldiers in most wars don’t see combat anyway, but are most of the PTSD claims originating from this majority?

Democrats seem to welcome any and all dependency on government because beneficiaries of welfare will always vote to keep the free whatever rolling in. Today we see various branches of the armed forces holding “counseling” sessions about “how to spot PTSD” for those leaving the service. In reality, these sessions are actually teaching many how to fake a PTSD application. Meanwhile, attention to those who really need the help goes unfulfilled.
