G-8 Summit Fiddles While Economies Falter

Economies teeter on the precipice of collapse as President Obama hosts what appears to be a social gathering of clueless leaders that thus far can only state the obvious and make nice with each other.

The Group of Eight (G-8) summit includes leaders of the United States, Japan, Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Canada and Russia.

The magnitude of the economic crisis that threatens all is monumental. All they could manage on Saturday was to declare that their governments must both spark growth and cut the debt that has crippled the European continent and put investors worldwide on edge.

Wow, there’s gravitas.

Yet there were no bold prescriptions at hand. Instead, leaders seemed intent on trying to inspire confidence amongst themselves regardless of their differences. The delusional party host, Obama, seized the opportunity to cast the debate in terms favorable to his own re-election, closing the summit with the steps he took to right the US economy. What???

Has Obama righted the US economy? I must have been absent that day.

On to the next show now for Obama on his home court in Chicago for the NATO summit on Sunday and Monday that will be heavily focused on the Afghanistan war.

Make ready the big teleprompter, Chicago. Barry is coming to town.
