Kirkeby Shows Why He Shouldn’t Be Senator

For those who were not in attendance at the recent Family Heritage Alliance Luncheon last Wednesday, here is what happened from a person who was there, yours truly.

When leaflets were suddenly distributed at the luncheon tables by Family Matters PAC, critical of the Governor’s support for GOP candidates that support a pro-homosexual and pro-abortion agenda in the recent GOP Primary, RINO hides got chafed, including the hide of soon-to-be Senator Mark Kirkeby (District 35).

The Family Matters folks were asked to leave, and did. The RINOs scurried about the room to pick up the leaflets and the incident was apparently quashed.

However, Kirkeby’s angst was not quenched so he apparently sought out a KOTA camera crew in the parking lot to personally attack a member of the Family Matters PAC, Zach Lautenschlager. With veins bulging, he stated:  “I think what he is trying to do is show that he is an actual nut job.”

Not content with that, Kirkeby then accused former State Senator Gordon Howie of involvment in this event without a shred of evidence. Mr. Kirkeby apparently is emulating Democrat US Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) in making unfounded malicious public statements.

Not even content with that, Mr. Kirkeby told KOTA that anyone who carries a firearm in a church is a “cult member.” Apparently Mr. Kirkeby has not been advised of the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution and, like many other RINOs, would rather the 2nd Amendment didn’t exist.

Just last year, I heard Mark Kirkeby announce that the Governor was the “Supreme Being” to another group. Mr. Kirkeby, be advised that Almighty God is the only “Supreme Being,” and I am quite certain that He doesn’t appreciate your flippant declaration.

Mark Kirkeby is an embarassment to District 35 and to South Dakotans and he is unfit to serve as a senator.

Good for Ed and Mark using their real names here. Cowboy up guys!! Ed were you the guy who pushed Representative Wick to sponsor the bill forcing every South Dakotan to carry a weapon? My thinking is guys like Lautenslauger should never be allowed to own a weapon for with the mentality of bustin up a church service in order to throw pieces of paper around damning a leader of the state of SD with a cooked up agenda just spells “mentally unfit” to the normal person.

      Mr. Hoffman,
Is your tea getting cloudy? Have you neglected to read the dosage on your medication or do you just enjoy slinging words around whether they have any relationship to truth? I don’t know Hal Wick, never have either spoken or contacted him about any bill requiring anyone to carry a “weapon,” and I am presuming here that you are referring to a firearm. I really would appreciate some attention to detail and proper syntax when communicating here…….it would make it somewhat easier to focus on somethings you obviously don’t understand, like truth and facts. I’ll try to keep this real simple so even you can understand.
Now let’s assume that I even care what you think about Mr. Lautenschlager’s (Try to note the proper spelling of people’s names as well. It’s really a matter of common courtesy.) Constitutional right to own a firearm for a moment. I checked and I see no exception in the 2nd Amendment which would exclude Mr. Lautenschlager from the right to bear arms so let’s stipulate that you are either intellectually challenged or just plain ignorant. Another fact you missed is that the FHA Luncheon is in no way a church service although carrying a firearm in a church service is quite legal and acceptable and is commonly done. In fact, in the church I attend there are many that carry firearms and several who don’t have expressed their appreciation to me that I do.
The “throw pieces of paper around” image is clever, but totally untrue. The flyers were carefully and unpretentiously placed on the tables without comment or confrontation. In fact, Mr. Lautenschlager personally handed one to the Governor who accepted it.
You employed another clever turn of a phrase, “a cooked up agenda.” Once again, untrue. All (as in each and every) items listed on the flyer were absolutely true. But you don’t get anywhere near truth, do you?
Mr. Whip Leader, you are just another inarticulate, intellectually dishonest and intellectually lazy liberal who is not so cleverly disguised as a conservative. Please stay close to home so you don’t embarrass yourself in public and for goodness sake, don’t write anything that can be traced back to you.

        Mr. Randazzo,

Did you honestly just juxtapose common courtesy and unpretentiously in the same letter with entering a church to hand out pieces of paper with large type homosexual and abortion on them?

        Houston we have a problem……………….

        • October 5, 2012 at 8:10 pm

There you go again, “entering a church…..” You libs are all alike. You all study at the feet of Alinsky. Therefore you NEVER consider the merits of the issues. It’s always mirrors and lights, diversions from the truth that you have no interest in even considering. Houston will survive, it’s South Dakota that has a problem. The problem is liberal Democrats, like you, that are dishonest and intellectually lazy, so you declare yourselves to be conservative Republicans to have a chance of getting elected, then you lib out and insist that everyone else is an extremist. That dog doesn’t hunt anymore, Hoffman.

While I acknowledge your opinion, I must take a position that is certainly not supported by you. You stated that you were there. This is a fact that I can agree with you on. Other than that, your comments reflect your personal opinion and proven history of providing just your view. Zach did remove himself after continued requests. You suggested that he had no hesitiation in doing so. I did not seek out a TV crew and I certainly did not make the statement that Mr. Howie had involvement in this particular event. Your reference that I suggested “anyone” who carries a firearm in a Church is a cult member is another opinion of yours and certainly has no factual merit. The Governor is the leader of our Republican Pary and I am honored to serve with him. I wish you success with your negative personal views. Good luck with that.

      Representative Kirkeby,
Your gratuitous affirmation of my presence at the FHA Luncheon is noted. I find it curious that you expect me to express an opinion that is not my own, or that I am somehow required to express an opposing point of view. Do you do that? You can regularly expect to read and hear my view of an issue. It is your job, sir, to espouse yours.
Whether Mr. Lautenschlager hesitated before leaving the premises is immaterial. The fact is that he did leave, perhaps not as quickly or gleefully as would please you.
As for your assertion that you did not seek out a TV crew, I certainly didn’t observe your opposition to the parking lot interview. You appeared to be eager to label Americans who wish to carry a firearm in a church, openly or concealed, are cult members in your view. I carry my firearm for my self-defense and the defense of my family and the US Constitution guarantees my right to do so. I do not carry a firearm to intimidate, threaten or offend anyone. I saw you make that statement on KOTA News.
You may be sure that I will continue to express my opinions, negative where appropriate, with or without your wishes.

Curious where is it written anywhere in the state of South Dakota that Dennis Daugaard is the “Leader of the Republican Party?” He sure the heck is not my leader. South Dakota Republicans are the leader of the South Dakota Republican Party. As one of those, I can tell you that Dauggard and Kirkeby do NOT represent the Republican principles of the SDGOP. Mr. Kirkeby needs to go back to high school so he can learn a legislator is supposed to act as a checks and balances on the executive and judicial branch, not their personal bucket carrier!
