THE RACE CARD IS DEALT AGAIN…..AND AGAIN

The evidence is mounting that the tea party movement is gaining more and more political traction. The proof is that the race card has been played again……and again.

CARD #1

Thousands turned out in Washington, D.C. yesterday for the Glenn Beck inspired “Restoring Honor” event.

Beck, a tea party favorite, said the aim of the rally is to pay tribute to America’s military personnel and others “who embody our nation’s founding principles of integrity, truth and honor.”  The liberal left is threatened by Christian principles such as integrity, truth, honor and Constitutionally-based limited government. All of these principles are embraced by the tea party movement.

Since it is difficult to oppose those noble principles, the liberal left must resort to the demonization of the tea party and their favorite tool is the accusation of racism. In this case the dealer, Al Sharpton alleged that the “Restoring Honor” event was a racially-motivated anti-government rally that was intentionally scheduled on August 28th, the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s famous “I Have A Dream” speech. The card was played again.

CARD #2

The dealer in this case is Elizabeth Cook-Lynn, a Santee-Yankton member of the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe, a retired professor of Indian Studies, an author and poet and her rant was published in the August 28th Rapid City Journal.

Here are a few excerpts.

“The national crusade of “Take Back America” by tea party activists and the Arizona Legislature is as bigoted as it is absurd.”  “It’s about a black president in a white-power country. Tea partiers expect Barack Obama to “show his papers” (birth certificate) in public over and over again because he is a black man who they believe has no right to the presidency.”

“Today, it is about despising the notion that America might like to envision itself in the coming centuries as a socialist democracy with real equality for everyone, rather than equality for a few in a continuing thuggish, capitalistic democracy.”

The card was played again.

When did it become bigoted to expect those who wish to immigrate to the United States to respect our immigration laws? When did it become bigoted to expect secure borders?

Is it racist to require a candidate for president to document his eligibility under the Constitution? I had to provide my birth certificate to renew my driver’s license.

Would it be un-American to despise socialism as a failed economic system and to defend the capitalist system and the republic established by the Constitution which has enabled unprecedented opportunity for all?

I will deal the next card.

My card respects the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and our God-given unalienable rights for all. My card embraces our nation’s founding principles of integrity, truth and honor.

Which of these cards is about Christian conservative ideas and values….and which ones are about hate, jealousy and racism?

Ed. You have an excellent article with nothing but the truth. The left wing loonies have used these race card non truthful statements for as long as I can remember. With excellent results. The white community will accept these rants as true and quickly start begging forgiveness. Of course the white community is headed for minority status. When that happens I doubt if our oppressors will be as kind as we have been.
