Do You Trust The Political Polls?

Polling can be manipulated to control the end result.

Polling results can also be used to encourage or discourage people when it comes to supporting a certain candidate.

This is a recent report about one (of many) polls being taken in the South Dakota Senate race:

“Yesterday I got a robocall doing a poll on the Senate race. It went like this: “If you do not plan on voting, please hang up. If you plan to vote for Rounds p…ush 1, for Weiland push 2, for Pressler push 3, for Howie  push 4, if undecided push 5. Presumably the order of presentation was changed for other calls to help get a less biased survey. BUT. I pushed 4 for Gordon, and the call ignored my vote and repeated the messages. I pushed 4 again, again, again…. and continued to be ignored with the message repeating itself. I’m not sure that my vote was ever counted, which makes we wonder just how accurate this survey could possibly have been. What I do not know is whether the vote would have been counted immediately had I voted for someone else.”

Do you still trust what the polls are telling you?
