Ted Cruz on Net Neutrality: No to Big Government and Big Business

Cruz-Internet“Don’t mess with the Net” warns US Senator Ted Cruz on just-in YouTube footage.  Only two doors appear to be open in mainstream media outlets at this point, he argues, when “net neutrality” is discussed.  But establishment politicians from both parties will hurt the “little guy” by stifling Internet innovation and freedom.

Only the “big boys” will be players, he says.  Unelected lobbyists will steer the country.  Who wants to miss out on campaign contributions?

Mainstream politicians really do want big government and Big-Brother regulation.  Cruz compares the old innovation-stifling black wired telephones to the far freer, but relatively unregulated cell-phone industry today.

And, yes, both parties actually want calcified big business owners and investors to be ever richer at the expense of the “little guy” public, that is, you and me.  Even so, free market big business innovators are different, he believes.  They will never be “regulated” as such because their constant change brings its own teflon-coating beyond the ability of establishment politicians from both parties to regulate and tax them.

Recent US political elections point to the real winners: big television companies who earn obscene millions.  Perhaps the public ultimately gets what it wants: more meaningless sports events, shoddy soap operas, values-channeling news shows, and other punked-up forms of entertainment bling.  No room for independent consciousness in our preferred television-watching futures without commercial-free, cheaper possibilities like Netflix.  No room for freedom, says Ted Cruz.
