GOP Runs From Principle

60% of America supported the Pain Capable Child Protection Act.

Still, House Republicans abandoned the bill earlier this week.  Rep Charlie Dent explained it this way,

“I prefer that we avoid these very contentious social issues,” Dent told National Journal. “Week one, we had a speaker election that did not go as well as a lot of us would have liked. Week two, we got into a big fight over deporting children, something that a lot of us didn’t want to have a discussion about. Week three, we are now talking about rape and incest and reportable rapes and incest for minors. … I just can’t wait for week four.”

This bill would have prohibited elective abortions after 20 weeks.  Just for the record, that is 5 months.

It is nearly unbelievable that ANYONE thinks it is ok to kill a child at 5 months of development.  Look at this ultra sound picture of a baby at 5 months….

In an effort to placate the pro life community, the House will vote on a ban for public funding of abortions.

The “controversial” issue of life isn’t something Republicans should run from.  We sent them to deal with “controversial” issues.  The reason they are not willing to deal with “controversial” issues is that they are fearful of damaging their popularity.

Popularity over principle.  That’s a sad condition.

It’s a sad day when Politicians are more concerned with their own popularity than the lives of little children.

Every issue of any consequence is “controversial.” That is because evil is at war with the American way of life.

Any “Republican” who won’t fight “controversial” issues is a sellout and a traitor to what is right. Such worthless curs need to be thrown out of office at the earliest possible opportunity. They’re collecting a taxpayer-funded salary for doing something they refuse to do: what is right.
