Pentecostal Leaders Discuss Racial Harmony

It’s what Rapid City needs.

The major Pentecostal Denominations met last week for 3 days in Los Angeles to talk about the role of the church in issues like racial harmony.

One might ask, “Where are the leaders in the faith community in Rapid City”.  To be longhorn internet adsure, some have talked about the issue.  Some may have been involved in discussions.  But to this point, the churches have not united to take the lead, or stepped forward and done anything of substance.  Shouldn’t that be the role of the church?

Shouldn’t the body of Christ have a united voice on the important moral issues?

Lot’s of people in Rapid City go to church every Sunday.  Many of them go to churches that preach the Gospel.  Good churches.  I go to one.  But when the service is over and the church doors are locked, what happens?  Rapid City is the same as most other communities in America.  When the church doors are locked, life as usual continues on the streets.

Racial tensions are high in South Dakota

More unborn children will lose their lives to abortion this week in South Dakota.

Our children are falling prey to homosexuality and promiscuity in South Dakota.

Drug abuse, alcoholism and other social problems abound in South Dakota.

Shouldn’t the churches come together an do something about it?  Church programs inside the church are wonderful, but if we are going to win any battles, it’s time to unite and take it outside.

We see the evidence all around us that proves the saying true, “Evil abounds when good men do nothing”.  The church needs a voice.  A united voice.  The church needs a united effort OUTSIDE the walls of the sanctuary if there is any hope to change America… and Rapid City.

Even though there may be some “talk” in the church community about racial division and other issues, “talk” is not enough.

Jesus will not reward the faithful by saying “Well said”.  He will say “Well done.”
