Conservative Legislator Speaks Out

Lynne DiSanto is a first term Republican Legislator in South Dakota.

And, I might add, a good one.

Her commitment to conservative Christian principles runs deep.  At the conclusion of her first Legislative session, DiSanto made some candid observations that might surprise you:

“I can honestly say as we wrap up here, what I had heard about Pierre is true. Republicans voting here for more government, more taxes and less freedom. I often get told that it is so unfair for the Democrats in our state government, since they are such a minority. But I can honestly say, it doesn’t matter. Many of these republicans vote more like democrats anyway. So, to my democrat friends, you are not in as much of a minority here as you think! And to my republican friends, pay attention. The letter after your name doesn’t really mean anything, its how you vote.”

Her remarks do not require further commentary.  They were not mean-spirited or partisan, just straightforward… and accurate.

Keep fighting the good fight, Lynne.  You have represented us well.  We are very proud of you!!

Congratulations Lynne. I came to that same conclusion some 8 years ago when I served where you now serve. Were it not for my faith and living by my principles it would have been very difficult. May God truly bless your service and keep you strong in doing what is right irregardless of party affiliation.
