Memorial Service Scheduled for Rapid City Teen

A memorial service will be held for Nehemiah Larimer…safe

… at Stevens High School gymnasium on Thursday, April 2nd. The Stevens High School choir and orchestra, along with Young Life Senior Director Corey Harouff and Pastor Brent Parker, will honor Nehemiah in a service at 7:00 PM. Doors will open at 5:30.
Nehemiah was critically injured in a traffic accident Friday afternoon when his scooter collided with a turning vehicle. By Saturday morning, his was brain was declared unresponsive and events were set in motion to fulfill Nehemiah’s wish to be an organ donor.
As circumstances pushed the timing for the operation back to Monday evening, a steady stream of hundreds of high school friends, including many from the Rapid City Young Life group where Nehemiah was a student leader came to sit, pray, and set up a vigil that lasted for three days. A prayer vigil was also arranged at the Young Life headquarters in Rapid City, Saturday night, and was attended by nearly three hundred young people, many of whom had been personally touched by Nehemiah’s life and council.
Nehemiah’s organs will go to 65 recipients from around the country who will have a new lease on life because of his decision to share God’s love with the world one last time.
