Clinton Wins

Despite a full day of questioning, Hilary emerged unscathed.

The Congressional committee made the point that Clinton was disengaged and unconnected.  She had two different versions of whether the Benghazi murders were the result of a terrorist attack or anger about a video.  That doesn’t matter much.

People who are Hilary haters are still Hilary haters.  Her supporters are still her supporters.

We already knew that requests for increased security were denied or ignored.  We already knew that the President, Secretary Clinton and others were watching the attack in real time, and nothing was done to assist or save the Ambassador and others.  That doesn’t matter much.

Clinton was poised and did a proficient job of defending herself.  She was the winner of this round.  The Committee might have been better off to simply adjourn for the day after Rep. Trey Gowdy’s opening statement.  His statement was certainly the high point of the day.

The Clinton campaign victory celebration might appear to be appropriate, but a closer look might still give them pause.  It isn’t over until its over, and it isn’t over.  The committee has already uncovered the private email server, which has proven to be increasingly more troubling for Clinton.  It could prove to be her ultimate undoing.  Even that may not be the end of her troubles.  Regardless of how the public testimony of Clinton may be perceived, the committee has done and will continue to do MUCH more important investigative work.  This despite the screams and complaints of Democrats.  Only time will tell if there is anything significant enough to hold her accountable for anything.

The Clinton campaign moves forward… for now.  One might reasonable ask…

“At this point, what difference does it really make?”
