Does Morality Have A Place In Politics?

It appears that most Americans don’t think so.

The two most obvious political groups are no longer Republicans and Democrats.

They are those who embrace Socialism (to one degree or another) and those who are Revolutionists (want to overturn the political system).  I would be one of the Revolutionists, but for the fact that they have embraced revolution for the sake of revolution, setting aside the issue of morality.

It is easy to argue that a tyrannical government is not moral.  But can we truly revolutionize our government without moral leadership?  I don’t think so.

The US debt is plunging toward $ 20 Trillion, and $125 Trillion in unfunded liabilities.  Taxes continue to increase and our government is focused on taking away our freedom, little by little.  Political correctness has taken away our moral compass.  Now, political UNCORECTNESS further abandons morality and decency.  Somehow, Americans have come to believe that the MOST important issue is to overthrow the status quo… by any means.

There is no doubt it is time to change directions.  It seems obvious that we now have a government that is not morally based… at least not morally based on Judeo-Christian values.

Revolution for the sake of revolution may only take us from the frying pan into the fire.  Do we seriously believe that we can solve our fiscal and social problems without a moral foundation?  Have we come to the place where we actually believe we can do all things WITHOUT God?  If so, we are sadly and tragically mistaken.  We are not smart enough to solve our serious problems without Divine assistance.

What do we gain if we trade one immoral leader/government for another?

It is not about politics its about sin and the fact that we are sinners and must repent. I agree with what you say that revolution for revolutions sake is not good. We must get down on our knees and pray to the Almighty to save us, our country, and our children. How many Pastors took the time to go to Pierre this week to pray with Mr. Graham and pray for their own congregations and the country? I here not many. Too bad! Was your Pastor there?
