Detroit was once a shining example of success and prosperity.

BUT…

That was before 30 years of Democrat leadership.

Massive amounts of Federal dollars have been pumped into Detroit.  “Affordable housing” programs sucked up millions of tax dollars in government-sponsored efforts to “help” the poor.  The net result of these and other Democrat policies have earned Detroit the title of the poorest city in America.

What Democrats said would be a model of success had proven to be a model for failure.  Other cities that have followed in the footsteps of Detroit have reaped the same rewards.  Bigger government, higher taxes and more programs to “help” the poor have a strong record of failure.

For the next week we will hear from Democrats why their failed policies are still best for America.  What is perhaps the worst of it, is that so many people will still believe them.  I say “perhaps the worst” because a significant number of Republicans have also bought in to the big government model.  At the end of the day, it isn’t the PARTY that is the foundation of failure, it is the POLICIES.  It matters not which party is promoting them.

Personal freedom, capitalism and the Constitution is still the best model for enduring success.
