WITH THE FACTS BEFORE THEM, THEY STILL DON’T GET IT

An MSNBC banner headline on their website today read “Tea Party tempest keeps on rocking the vote.” Later on it was “Tuesday’s primaries pit establishment vs. activists.”

The lamestream media is shocked and still cannot seem to grasp the mission of the tea party “activists.” They don’t understand why the tea party backed candidates are challenging the regular GOP offerings for office. They have reported on primary race after primary race where the “establishment” Republican candidate has been defeated by those “activists.”

They gleefully report that the challenge of  Republican “establishment” candidates by tea party “activists” may enhance the election prospects for Democrats. NOT!!!

The media chooses to ignore the truth before their eyes that the tea party movement is the real deal. The time of the big-tent, liberal, don’t-stand-on-your-principles, pro-choice Republicans is done, over, stick a fork in it. The tea parties can and will deliver the votes and they wont be delivering them for the Democrats either.

As I write this Christine O’Donnell has won in Delaware…..another RINO bites the dust.

I’m thinking November 2, 2010 is gonna be great one for the tea parties but not so good for Chris Mathews’ leg.

    Bob,
Spoken like a true Christian supremist, and against the words of your Lord Jesus Christ. You are a sinner, like the serpent in the Garden of Eden you tempt others to follow your path of judgment and mortal sin. Shame on you! God works in mysterious ways Bob, and you must repent before He one day judges you harshly for the sins of your politics. Allow Jesus to open your heart and love your fellow man in spite of his faults. Jesus loves you in spite of yours.

    Bob,
You’re really being rather silly. Americans aren’t at all defined by your personal and extremely narrow parameters. Neither are Christians. The fact you use circular reasoning to contrive definitions reflecting your beliefs, then judge others using your belief system doesn’t sit well with God, trust me.

Again I have to ask myself if an adult human being can really be that daft–or is this simply your attempt to deceive yourself and/or others?

You don’t like the articulation of what defines an American or a Christian because you know you don’t fit the definition very well. Rather than rectify the problem within yourself, you choose to ignore the problem and write it off under “personal and extremely narrow parameters.”

It might provide you some temporary and superficial peace for now, but it will never provide lasting respite and only makes you look silly.

    Bob,
Just how do you define “Americans?” Apparently you’re personal definition is extremely narrow in both scope and vision.

    • September 18, 2010 at 8:14 am

      Defining “Americans” is easy.

First, an American is obviuosly someone who is a citizen of America. But that is the most basic and elementary requirement to being an American.

A real American loves this country. A genuine American takes the time and effort to learn about America, what makes it what it is, what America is about, about our founding values and principles, about our form of government, and so on. A true American then embraces these values, strives to live up to them, works to see them carried out in our country today, defends them from all enemies foreign and domestic, and fights to preserve them.

You couldn’t very well be considered a real member of the, say, Knights of Columbus if they went around telling everyone what a lousy organization the KOC was, how it was founded by a bunch of self-interested dirtbags on terrible principles, who didn’t care anything about the ideals and goals of the KOC beyond the benefits of the organization they could leech up, who was always looking to other organizations and saying the KOC should be like these other organizations, who was always trying to make the KOC something far different than its charter and bylaws said it was supposed to be.

No, such a malcontent would quickly find themselves ejected from that organization. Why? Because it would be abundantly clear that they were not a real Knight of Columbus.

Some folks should be incredibly thankful that America doesn’t have nearly as stringent membership requirements as most organizations do. Of course, thankfulness usually isn’t in the nature of those people to begin with.

Independents currently decide nearly all elections, as in the Brown victory in Massachusetts. In general we reject extremism from either Dems or the GOP. Narrow-minded politics, partisan politics and mixing religion with politics is suicide with us. I think our goal for November is to restore the “checks and balances” our Founders built into our government, so we’ll probalby put a few GOP members in Congress to remove the majority the Dems have enjoyed. Eventually we will be the vooice of reason, the force between the divisive partisanship the two party system has created. Independents are the future.

And Bob, I keep trying to open your eyes a bit. Your opinion as to what defines conservative values, patriotism, and American bedrock values is just your opinion. Even if you believe in your heart of hearts you are being directed by God. God does not belong to a political party, nor does He draw black and white “good vs evil ” lines in the sand like you do. He loves us all.

    • September 18, 2010 at 8:05 am

No, I understand what defines conservative values, patriotism and bedrock American values…and I don’t attempt to redefine them to fit whatever opinion I hold regardless of whether that matches the genuine article. Rather, I strive to meet and uphold these values in myself.

Unlike relativists, I don’t try to define the world down to meet my low achievements. Rather, I strive to raise the bar of my own behavior and attitudes to reach good standards.

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt (until they remove all doubt), so I’m still uncertain as to whether you are (a) an extremely confused and misled individual, or (b) deliberately attempting to deceive people by spreading lies and deception wherever you go.

For instance, your assertion that God doesn’t draw “black and white” or “good versus evil” distinctions. That statement has no basis whatsoever in fact, and is demonstrably (embarrassingly, for you) false.

These very clear distinctions can be found in Matthew 5:11, Matthew 7:23, Matthew 9:4, Matthew 12:34, Matthew 12:35, Matthew 13:41, and John 14:6–just for an extremely small sample.

You would do well to study God’s word and rid your mind of the lie that you can live, act and speak contrary to God’s standard…and still expect to please him. That thinking will take you straight into the pit of Hell.

I don’t understand how a couple, or even a few victories in a primary can justify a celebration. A fractured GOP isn’t going to help turn the tide in November. A strong Dem should be able to beat a Tea Party candidate who squeaked out a victory in the primary. As usual Independents will decide things, and many of us consider Tea Party candidates to be extremists. Given the choice we’ll probably allign ourselves with the Dems, or the lesser of two evils in most cases. And jilted GOP members just might cast a protest vote, giving the Dems an even greater advantage. That’s how I see things shaping up.

The GOP will not fracture, it will reform into the party that supports limited government, fiscal responsibility, sane tax policy, strict adherence to the U.S. Constitution, the protection of our God-given individual rights, family values, Christian values and the rights of the unborn.

Some RINOs will leave the party and join the liberal, socialist, tax-and-spend, anti-God, revisionist globalists in the Democratic Party. But the independents who now have experienced the effects of the liberal Marxist agenda will turn to the new GOP to pull this country back to sanity. The independents will shrink as they begin to move into the new GOP now and defeat the Democrats.

The Democratic hope that the tea party will split the GOP will not come to pass.

We live in a very odd world where some people who call themselves Americans consider it “extreme” to love one’s country, believe in fiscal responsibility, consider property rights important, and believe the U.S. Constitution should be obeyed by those sworn to uphold it.

On the eve of election day, he probably won’t have a tingle running up his leg, but rather something yellow running down it.
