Floods And Fire

82,000 have been people evacuated in California fire.

About 35,000 homes were abandoned as the fire northeast of San Bernardino.  The fire reportedly attacked with a vengeance as it roared through the brush.  Firefighters have said many of the displaced people will literally have nothing to come home to.  It’s already taken 40,000 acres and still not contained.

Louisiana flooding has taken 13 lives at this point in time and impacted over 40,000 homes.  This flooding is far from over and the devastation is nearly incomprehensible.  70,000 people have registered for assistance and 8,000 are living in shelters.

Drought is also taking a toll in come parts of the country.  From abnormally dry to extreme drought, a shortage of moisture has caused crop failures and hardship.

Violence is rocking communities across America.  Terrorist attacks and shootings have created an environment of fear.

Those who are fortunate enough to not be affected directly by the disasters and violence should count their blessings and pray for those who are.  Some people say this is the judgment of God.  Others will argue that all of these tragedies have nothing to do with the fact America has turned her back on God.

In either case, it would be smart to once again become a nation that fears and worships God.
