Nancy Pelosi is the poster child for liberal thinking.
The House Democrats just re-elected her as their leader by a large majority, 134 to 63. Senate Democrats chose Chuck Schumer as their replacement for Harry Reid. Schumer will be in lock step with other Democrat leaders in the Senate, like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.
Wow! What a lineup!
There is no question that these Democrats will be poised to fight tooth and nail against any conservative proposal brought forward. Schumer said as much recently, “We will work with President Trump when he agrees with our positions and values, but when he goes against our values and our positions, we’ll fight him with everything we have.” Anything conservative will be “against their values and positions”. God help us all if Trump brings forward proposals they can agree on.
Not that cooperation is a bad thing. Its just that the left is so far left, that it is difficult to think they could embrace anything that makes sense. The Democrat definition of cooperation has been, “do it our way”. That has proven unsuccessful in moving the country in the right direction. Let’s hope Republicans have figured that out by now.
This isn’t a time to “cooperate” with the likes of Pelosi, Schumer, Warren & Sanders. It’s a time to do what is right. Republicans are in charge. Its time they act like it. There is no shame in fighting for what is right. There is no disgrace in refusing to compromise when so much is at stake. Trump and the Republicans need to lay claim to the policies that make sense and refuse to detour from them. The country has spoken. We don’t want to go the direction of Clinton, Pelosi, Schumer, Warren and Sanders.
Its time to stand and fight.
