They are in recess…
One might wonder if that is better or worse than being on the job in DC.
Having left the nation’s capitol without repealing OR replacing Obamacare demonstrates their serious dysfunction as a governing body. When they return, they will face that issue as well as tax reform, dealing with the debt ceiling and immigration.
My prediction is that they will continue to refuse a clean repeal of Obamacare and increase the debt ceiling to allow for expanded government spending. Several Senators are positioned to propose an immigration bill that is alien friendly.
With such an ineffective body of Legislators at the helm, America’s best hope may actually be what we least expected… Donald Trump. Despite the Democrat’s and the media’s relentless efforts to discredit and dethrone him, along with subversive Republicans working against him on many issues, the President is actually getting some things accomplished.
The Leftist Democrats and Moderate/Leftist Republicans in the Senate significantly outnumber Conservatives, rendering them largely ineffective. Any forward motion accomplished by this body will include compromises that Conservatives won’t like. The Democrats continue their march further to the Left and the Republicans have re-defined their Party so that Conservatives are now considered the “New RINOs”.
As strange as it may sound to true Conservatives, Donald Trump might prove to be their best hope. Assuming he survives the attacks from every side, Trump might get enough done so that our country survives. The battle is no longer between the Left and the Right…
… it is now a battle between the Left and the “Left-er”.
