I have had this discussion with Tonchi of Citizens for Liberty, and she understands but did not change my score. I introduced HB1135 and had more sponsor signatures in both houses than any other bills that I saw. The Governor’s office did not oppose it. My bill protected the liability of a person using a gun in self defense from the costs of a liability suit if they had already won their criminal case. The bill largely was aimed at reducing frivolous law suits.

The attorneys, RINOS and democrats killed my bill in Judiciary. I waged a successful smoke out on the floor and when the bill came back to judiciary they voted to send the bill back to the floor with a “do not pass” recommendation. I voted NO in committee to protest them giving it the “Do Not Pass” recommendation. That is how I earned one blue box. Seriously? I was docked from 100% to a 92% on my own bill. You cannot find a more staunch 2A than me in any house or branch of any government. Numbers do not always tell the story. And the final straw was when one attorney from judiciary improperly discussed my bill on the floor and was called on it by the speaker – but the damage was already done and I had no rebuttal. I just want to set the record straight, and it probably only matters to me.
