Change South Dakota State Motto??

“Under God The People Rule”

Image result for only one God

That is the State motto for South Dakota.  It means something to those who understand it.

Now, there is a move to change that motto… at least in terms of what it means.  The new motto-meaning that is proposed is…

“Under gods the people rule.”

Quite different than the original intent.

On January 10, the State Capitol building will be the site of an “interfaith” day.  It takes place during the 2nd day of the State Legislative session.  The group of participants includes representatives from multiple “faith” groups, Jewish, Lutheran, Episcopal, Catholic, Muslim and Buddhist.

The event will include formal introductions and prayers.

This event promotes the theology that all gods are co-equal, and places Muhammad, Buddha and Jesus Christ on the same level.  They are not.  This demonstration of “unity” is really nothing more than a degradation of the Savior of the world.  The very suggestion that we should celebrate the worship of Muhammad and Buddha should cause Christians to stand up for the truth.  There is ONE name above all names.  The name of Jesus.

The South Dakota State Motto reverences the name of God.  The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  The God who gave His only Son, Jesus the Christ so that mankind could be reconciled to God.  Buddha and Muhammad were not, are not and should not be included in any way as objects of worship or recipients of prayer in any demonstration of “unity”.

Yes, Christians will defend and be tolerant of people who choose to reject Jesus, but publicly compromising the Deity of God in the State Capitol building of South Dakota should be a deep concern to followers of Christ.

There is ONE true God.  It is Him we should worship.

I agree with all my heart, the motto should not be changed.
I would also like to know when Americans are going to stop putting up with this nonsense.
This is supposed to be AMERICA the STRONG, NOT AMERICA the WEAK: GOD forbide if we offend the “people” from other counrties that are here because theirs SUCK.

This CANNOT happen! It is a travesty and heresy! Thank you, Gordon Howie, for this update, your explanation, and your intervention!

    Tim,
This is very disturbing. I am thankful for your representation.
Do not let this proposed change become the law of our land.

No Jews are on organizing committee…..do not think Muslims will willingly include them. ELCA LSS (Betty Oldenkamp) as she is paid per refugee head) Little sisters (Hispanic ) also in favor of sanctuary and Buddha’s??? From where? And of course our resident CAIR rep: Muslim Taneeza Islam. This used to be Christian ministry Day….what a legacy for Daugaard alright!@
