Destroying Morality

Barack Obama made the claim that “America is not a Christian Nation.”

Our Founding Fathers would certainly have disagreed with that assertion, but as I look around today, I see the moral fabric of our country in desperate condition.  Sin is unashamedly on display on every hand.  In my wildest dream, I couldn’t have imagined a Presidential candidate announcing his candidacy and then turning around to kiss his husband on a national stage. Even more, it is accepted as “normal”.  That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Attorney General Barr nailed it recently when he said,

“This is not decay. This is organized destruction. Secularists and their allies have marshaled all the forces of mass communication, popular culture, the entertainment industry, and academia, in an unremitting assault on religion and traditional values.  We are told we are living in a post-Christian era, but what has replaced the Judeo-Christian moral system? What is it that can fill the spiritual void in the hearts of the individual person?”

Immorality has advanced to a point where there is no shame in sin.  The general public has come to the place where we call evil good and good evil.  That is a dangerous condition.  It isn’t a good idea to slap God in the face.

One of my favorite quotes by Daniel Webster is this:

“Whatever makes men good Christians makes them good citizens.”

Conversely, whatever makes men good sinners makes them bad citizens.  That is the summary of what is most wrong with America.

A national revival is the only thing that will “fix” this country.
