Why Should You Carry It?

An informant reported on a recent homicide that the victim was possessor of a concealed carry permit.

The victim, having been out, arrives home in the midst of a burglary crew – they’re all apparently armed. While possessing the permit, the victim’s handgun was in the house and inaccessible for use.

The victim was murdered.

The permit isn’t the weapon. Strictly speaking, neither is the handgun. It’s the brain. The victim operated on an assumption, “I don’t need the gun today.” The armed burglary crew didn’t get the memo.

They had their guns.
