Pulpit Freedom Sunday 2011

This is a reminder and an invitation to all pastors to participate in Pulpit Freedom Sunday tomorrow October 2nd, 2011.

Since the passage of the “Johnson amendment” to the IRS tax code in 1954, the IRS and certain radical organizations such as the Americans United for Separation of Church and State have created an atmosphere of intimidation and fear for pastors and churches that dare to speak Scriptural truth about candidates for office or issues of the day.

It is time for the intimidation and threats to end. Churches and pastors have a Constitutional right to preach unfettered by the government even on candidates and issues.

In the State of South Dakota alone, two children are murdered each day by abortionists. Is it not the right and responsibility of pastors to preach against the slaughter of the unborn and the anguish suffered by the parents whether immediate or in later life?

The current administration has abandoned the defense of marriage as between one man and one woman and supports and defends the abomination of homosexuality.

As Christian church members let us invite and encourage our pastors to speak up tomorrow on Pulpit Freedom Sunday and bring God’s message of righteousness without fear of harassment from the government.
