Has Senator John Thune Forgotten About Life Issues

It’s now old news that Senator John Thune, hailed by many as a solid conservative, has endorsed Romney for President.  It leaves many conservatives asking “Why?”.

Romney had nice things to say about Thune, “On the issues that I have been fighting for in my campaign – creating a better business environment, lessening the regulatory burden, and ending Washington’s spending addiction – Sen. Thune has been a leading voice in the Senate”.

Thune had nice things to say about Romney, “Mitt Romney has shown throughout his life in the private sector, as leader of the Olympics, as governor and in this campaign that he will not back down from difficult challenges.  His plans to revitalize the private sector and restore our country’s fiscal health are drawn from his 25-year career as a conservative businessman.”

Neither of them had anything to say about life issues.  Perhaps it’s because Romney would like to avoid talking about that issue.  He has certainly not been a leader on issues important to pro-life conservatives.  Romney is one of only two Presidential candidates refusing to sign the pro life pledge.  That doesn’t give much hope to pro-life conservatives, and it leaves us wondering about Senator Thune’s level of committment to pro-life issues as well.

Senator Ted Kennedy had a few things to say about Romney on life issues… “Mitt Romney isn’t Pro choice, he isn’t anti choice….. he’s multi choice.”

You should listen for yourself as Romney describes his position(s) on life issues.  http://www.newsinfaith.com/?p=1482

After you listen to Romney take both sides on life issues, you might be asking “Why would South Dakota Senator John Thune ever endorse Romney?” If Life issues are important to Senator Thune, why not endorse a candidate who is absolutely in the pro-life camp?

Maybe the Senator can explain why neither he nor Romney even thought life issues were worthy of mention.  Maybe Senator Thune can explain why he is endorsing a candidate who has obviously not shown a strong committment to life issues.  We would invite him to explain here, so we can all see his reasoning.  For now, many of us are disappointed.  Maybe he can help us understand.

Abortion. The eucharist of the liberal mindset. This is what they worship and is at the heart of the democrat party. It is demonic in its origin and will only be canceled by the change of heart of the citizens of the US, and only if this country returns to Christ. We MUST pray that God exposes the evils in the federal and state government.

Chanting “life issues” won’t solve the budget deficit, income inequality, terrorism, slow hiring, or any other substantive policy problem. It also won’t win the GOP the White House.

Until… and unless we get the life issue right, our nation will continue to drift into the abiss, without the blessing of God. Don’t expect to see any of the issues you mentioned find resolution in the meantime. We need the wisdom and blessing of God to set our nation right again. How can a righteous God bless a nation bent on unrighteousness and the shedding of innocent blood?

Abortion is a foundational evil….there is no way we can pretend to be blessed (and there is no other explanation as to why our resource-poor America should be so successful)if we stick our finger in the eye of God who loves his artwork….that is, life.

Well said, Lora!!! The sinful and senseless murder of our children is an abomination. Abortion also damages the lives of the parents of the child. The mental anguish, guilt and remorse of the parents is a horror that poisons the lives of many.
