If South Dakota Can’t Lead, Maybe It Can Follow

Last year The South Dakota Governor and Legislature passed two bills that began the implementation of ObamaCare (SB38 and SB43).  Wisconsin bought into the same direction.

But now, Governor Scott Walker is changing directions!

“I have directed the Department of Health Services to notify the federal government that we will discontinue any development on a health exchange and that Wisconsin will turn down funding from the Early Innovator Grant program,” said Governor Walker. “Stopping the encroachment of ObamaCare in our state, which has the potential to have a devastating impact on Wisconsin’s economy, is a top priority. Wisconsin has been a leader and innovator in health care reform for two decades, and we have achieved a high level of health insurance coverage without federal mandates. When job creators and Wisconsin families are facing difficult times it doesn’t make sense to commit to a federal health care mandate that will result in hidden taxes for Wisconsin families, increased health care costs and insurance premiums, and more uncertainty in the private sector.”

South Dakota (and the rest of the nation) could follow his lead!!

Many South Dakota Legislators have already signed the pledge to support the repeal of ObamaCare.  Check here for updates on who does/does not support the pledge to Repeal ObamaCare.
If your Legislators are not listed as supporters, you can contact them here to encourage them to get on board.

Some suggest they can’t “sign a pledge” that supports the repeal of ObamaCare, because that would require them to honor their pledge by supporting bills they haven’t seen which may be flawed.  If flawed bills are brought forward, we will help defeat them.  This pledge is a simple statement of support for the repeal of ObamaCare in South Dakota. Some Legislators are looking for excuses not to sign it, because they support ObamaCare.  In that case, any excuse will do.  On Monday we will update the Liberty Caucus website, showing the names of Legislators who support the pledge to repeal and those who do not.

Let’s hope our Legislature and Governor follow the lead of  Wisconsin and it’s Governor, Scott Walker and do the right thing!

You and your candidates (hey, field any yet?) are not going to win election to the South Dakota Legislature on this issue.

You really don’t have any solutions to anything……just random utterances. Kinda like flatulence.

Good grief, Gordon, could you just give it up and find a different issue? Even Ron Paul, in the SC debate Thursday, said he recognizes that repealing ObamaCare probably isn’t going to happen and that we should thus focus on more practical policy issues.

Heidelberger quoting Ron Paul…….that’s rich. The only practical policy issue you know is that you don’t have one.
