SD Legislature Veto Day

A dear friend, Tonchi Weaver, has a great idea (wish it were my idea, but it wasn’t) and I will share it here with you. On second thought, I will not just share it, I will promote it unabashedly.

Monday, March 19, 2012 is “Veto Day” in the South Dakota Legislature in Pierre. It is the final day of the 2012 Legislative Session and a day set aside for the legislators to deal with the veto(es) by the governor.

Tonchi’s idea is to encourage all ACTIVE CONSERVATIVES, MEMBERS OF CONSERVATIVE ORGANIZATIONS and ALL CANDIDATES FOR SOUTH DAKOTA OFFICES  to gather in Pierre to make their presence known during the final day of the Legislative Session.

A full day is planned to include a meeting at a local Pierre restaurant with INVITED CORE CONSERVATIVE LEGISLATORS ONLY in order to:

·         Give all of us a chance to thank and encourage our true representatives.

·         Give those who have announced their intentions to run for office a chance to get to know our good representatives, ask them questions and get feedback from their fellow conservatives.

·         Give all of us a chance to strategize and prepare for the upcoming primaries, elections and the future of the conservative movement in SD.

Conservatives from from the entire state should caravan to Pierre for the meeting of our “Clan.”

The Legislative Session begins at 10:00 AM Central Daylight Time so all should plan to arrive in Pierre by 10:00AM CDT and proceed to the galleries.

The “Conservative Clan Caucus” will be in the afternoon after the close of the Session.

If you wish to join us in Pierre on Monday, March 19th please contact Barb Landers or Tonchi Weaver, on or before Friday, March 16th to ensure that we have enough space reserved for you and your neighbors, co-workers or other interested and politically engaged conservative friends. Barb or Tonchi will furnish you with further details as well.  They want to be sure there is a seat reserved for you at the “Conservative Clan Caucus.” Email addresses and phone contact info is below.

Let’s all get behind this folks. Let’s appreciate the long hours, hard work and sacrifices made by our conservative legislators. They are concluding a Session in which they have been pressured, maligned and marginalized by a Republican leadership that is anything but conservative.

Please rally all the conservatives you know and secure their commitment to join you, and your fellow conservatives in Pierre on March 19.
