Right Must Work Harder Regardless of Who Wins
As the underdog in American culture, the Right has its work cut out for it regardless of whether Obama or Romney wins the election.
In our morally relativistic age, to say that Romney is more to the right than Obama doesn’t reveal that much. If neither candidate is a social conservative or a defense hawk, then aren’t those on the Right disenfranchised either way?
After all, isn’t the political “Iron Triangle”–government, education, media–really “owned” by the Left? Does anyone think for a minute that Western Civilization, Christianity, and traditional values will fare well under liberals of any stripe? (Original post contained comments that have been deleted pending a further editorial discussion. We soundly reject racial prejudice and do not endorse even the appearance thereof.)
Should quality-of-life be measured by our cell phones, electronic diversions, and social media bling? An Obama win will mean that the 47% “automatic” voting bloc may be 57% next year, and 67% the year afterwards if statistics-based central planning goes well under fiscal “conservatives” and liberals in both parties.
But the race-based voting blocs will tell our real future, especially if blacks and other racial constituencies vote a “straight ticket” based upon skin color. Same with gays. Same with welfare recipients of any color.
As every mathematician already knows, the center is just one micron away from the left. After all, Romney was governor of Massachusetts, a state that has long since forsaken its Puritan roots. Just walking past any television during the final debate will remind you that Romney is Big Government, Jr. How can he portray himself as anything less in today’s political climate and poll as well as he does? Let the Right retain the advantage and motivation and desperation of the underdog regardless of who wins.
Will Tea Party Democrats please step up and out of the closet to challenge RINO Republicans? Let the best conservative win!
