The South Dakota Republican party specifically rejects Common Core.

That isn’t true of all “conservative” office holders.  In spite of the conservative position held by the Republican party platform, some South Dakota politicians who claim to be conservative Republicans are in favor of the federalization of education of Common Core.

Governor Dennis Daugaard is one of the most staunch supporters of Common Core.  He is largely responsible for the implementation of Common Core in South Dakota.

That is a very revealing position for someone who claims to be conservative.
