New Candidate In District 34 Says “No Tax Increases”

That’s a refreshing change!

Rapid City resident Janette McIntyre has announced as a candidate for the District 34 Senate Seat in South Dakota.

Rapid City residents may remember Janette as the Executive Vice President of Black Hills Home Builders where her ten years of service included lobbying and all aspects of running the association including government affairs work on the local, state and national level. She was a featured speaker at several National Homebuilder Association functions on Government Affairs issues.  Janette is currently a Training and Development Manager for Carnival Cruise line.

McIntyre disagrees with the other candidate in the race on several issues.  Jeff Partridge, who wants to move from his House seat to the Senate, voted for two of the largest tax increases in South Dakota history.  McIntyre and Partridge also disagree on the Governor’s veto of the transgender bathroom bill.

McIntyre says, “I am much more fiscally conservative. I don’t believe voters want to be taxed more.”

Pam Junek, Stevens and Central gymnastics coach had this to say about McIntyre, “There’s no one who can get things done like Janette.”  On the transgender bathroom issue, Junek agrees with McIntyre, ” Not only do I believe this issue is crazy, I’m with Janette on it. Boys don’t need to be in girls showers and bathroom facilities”.

It would be nice to have another conservative voice in the State Capitol.
