Longhorn Embryos

Texas Longhorn breeders have long understood the importance of genetics.

Remans Legacy 2

AI (artificial insemination) has been a popular way to advance the quality of livestock for years.  It allows breeders to use the very best bulls in the business to improve their herds.

But an even BETTER, FASTER way to launch a breeding program is embryo transfer.

Texas Longhorn breeders will have the opportunity to “shop” for embryos from some of the best COWS, mated to the best bulls.

Embryo Alley is a new feature of the TLBA Horn Showcase.

The Horn Showcase will take place in Lawton, Oaklahoma, October 20-22, 2016.

Top longhorn cows will be on display, with owners offering opportunity to purchase embryos.  The shopping opportunities will include frozen embryos, recipient cows confirmed to be carrying an embryo calf, and live embryo calves at weaning time.  Longhorn breeders from around the nation (and the world) will be able to talk with the owners of these exceptional donor cows and negotiate the deal that works best for their program.

I have purchased Longhorn cattle produced by embryo transfer, and have seen personally the positive impact it can have on herd improvement.  Earlier this year, we flushed Redman5’s Legacy ( pictured above) to our powerful Herd Sire, Top Hand.  That resulted in several embryos being placed for a calf crop early next year.   We are now evaluating top bulls for the next flush.  Legacy will be one of the cows on display this year on Embryo Alley.  Come see her and the other exceptional females.

You might be the next one to benefit from embryo transfer.
