Why I Go To Church

It’s one place I have an encounter with God.

I’m thankful to be able to say I am “saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Spirit”.  Please note, I didn’t say I have been “perfected”.  I am still very much a work in progress.  I’m just glad God is directing my life and making me a better man.

Church isn’t the only place I encounter God, but it is a SPECIAL place for me.  There is something about joining my brothers and sisters regularly to share the Word of God and worship my King.

My church is a place where I see the power of God moving to touch people and change lives.  My church is a place where Luke 4:18 “happens”.  In case you don’t recall Luke 4:18, it records the words of Jesus:  “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised”

At my church, miracles are happening and the Spirit of the Lord is present.  I get to see it, hear it and feel it.

If that doesn’t describe YOUR church, maybe its time to consider a change.
