Sunday Has Changed

When I was a kid, Sunday was different than other days.

Most businesses were closed.  Even people who were not committed to church attendance took special note of this day each week.

I can recall my father’s refusal to work for a company who was “open on Sundays”.  During my early days in the real estate business, EVERY brokerage firm refused to do open houses on Sunday.

Years ago, a movie called “Chariots of Fire” told the story of a champion runner who refused to compete on Sunday as a matter of honoring God.  It was a very compelling and inspirational movie.

America, and the world, has a different attitude these days.  We are much to busy to remember the fifth Commandment,

“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

We seem to have forgotten the other nine as well.

editors note: We know a man whose mission is to distribute and display the Ten Commandments.  He is placing signs around the world, like the one featured in this article.  You can connect with him HERE.
