Lynne Hix-Disanto’s Unforgivable Sin

South Dakota Rep. Lynne Hix-Disanto is guilty, guilty, guilty!

But, of what??

Being politically incorrect or perhaps insensitive?  Maybe.  If you think so, you are entitled to your opinion.

Posting this meme on facebook:

It is arguable that it was in poor taste.  I would probably agree with you if that’s what you think.  Looking back, Rep. Disanto would probably agree too.  But, REALLY???  Does it rise to the level of being vilified and personally/viciously attacked?  Hardly.

So what is the big deal?  I think I know.

Rep. Disanto is a woman of character.  Perfect?  No.  Perfection is a state of being to which we aspire.  She is a conservative Christian.  Therein lies the problem.  That is her real “sin”.  If she were a practicing Leftist, little or nothing would be made of this insignificant error of judgment.  I have known Rep Disanto for several years.  I know some of her personal history.  Her deep personal commitment to conservative values, Christian principles and… horror of horrors, the sanctity of human life, has made her a prime target for Pagan activists of every stripe.  Politically correct and spineless “Christians” have joined this Pagan feeding frenzy or remained content to watch in silence as she is maligned and attacked.

For the record, I am proud to call her my friend and sister in the Faith.  She has done nothing worthy of the rancor with which she has been assailed.

Enough already!

As an evangelical Christian. I can say that there is nothing about this woman’s post that makes it okay and your defense of her as “a woman of faith” demonstrates the reasons why people believe that Christians as hypocritical. Jesus would never advocate for or condone actions commending the killing of fellow humans and he would actually defend peaceful protests. Much of Jesus’ early reaching years were marked by discord among various groups including the Pharisees. I am saddened to see His teachings and words being convoluted by people calling themselves Jesus followers (Christians).

It doesn’t matter if you think there is a leftist agenda and she is a prime target of “Pagan activists.” As Christians we should be offended and embarrassed by her behavior. She is an elected official who has a duty to represent all of her constituents, not just the ones she likes or agrees with. She needs to be held accountable for her actions.

You know, Gordon, I could agree with your post if this woman were merely a private citizen. People post tasteless crap like this every day. But she is an elected official. Her job is to represent ALL of her constituents–not just the right-leaning ones. She has no business posting something like this. It reflects badly upon her and the office she holds. (And having said all that, I totally agree with the sentiment that protesters need to get out of the streets, unless they have a permit)

How does a pro life christian support a cause called “All lives Splatter”?

So does Heather Hayer’s killer at Charlottesville deserve to be protected? Some people think so.

People are so dumb. That woman died because of a lunatic. It was a random act by some guy that had major issues apparently. I myself dont think standing in a freaking street blocking traffic is “peaceful” protesting. I agree with the post, stay out of the street to do your protesting. If my child was in an ambulance or someone I loved was at hospital dying, don’t think I wouldnt run someone over if they wouldn’t freaking get out of my way!!!!!!!!! Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

No, enough already of the right defending incivility beyond all bounds! She’s your friend? Is that supposed to impress me? Who the hell arevyou? She’s a Christian? Jesus says ny your fruits you shall know them judging by her fruits I say she is not. Millions of people around the world care about these protests, and tens of thousands are participating. And she said it was a “joke?”‘Oh, I get it! Because killing people for exercising their constitutional rights to free speech, peaceful assembly, and redress is funny! Especially because it actually happened! And it’s especially funny when told by someone in s position of leadership! Wait… actually, no, I don’t get it…tell me what the funny part is again?

I guess I should thank you for demonstrating what is over the edge with the Pagan left.

If “splattering ” people witha vehicle represents a “conservative Christian value “, then I once again thank my parents who raised me as a caring , patriotic non-Christian American who grew up to become a doctor . I have seen the carnage perpetuated by ” good Christians ” like you and Lynn Disanto !

Go and read “it Can’t Happen Here ” and see yourselves portrayed as patriots who would destroy us all with your false self righteousness.

Good write up on the issue Gordon. Like Lynne many of us have said, written or done something that we may have second thoughts about. Poor choice, probably but not worthy of the crap that has been sent her way.
