Santa Arrives Early for Obama

Santa Boehner arrived early at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue assisted by the legion of Republican elves who voted in favor of the “compromise” on the debt limit bill.

Merriam-Webster defines compromise as “settlement of differences by arbitration or by consent reached by mutual concessions.” Would someone please enlighten me as to what Obama and the Debtocrats conceded?

Even if you stipulate that Obama inherited an ailing economy, since his inauguration he has accelerated the decline of the economy through his disastrous economic policies. Nothing he has tried has had a positive effect on the economy. Unemployment is approaching 10% (actually closer to 20%), job creation is at virtually zero and stagflation has arrived on Main Street. The government is growing geometrically thanks, in part, to the passage of Obamacare. His orgy of spending has caused him to require another increase on his credit card limit, the debt ceiling.

Not willing to let this crisis he created go unexploited, Obama created an “impending event”…….the US will default if we don’t raise the debt ceiling by August 2nd. This “impending event” was a total fabrication by the White House and the Debtocrats. Nevertheless, through the use of the bully pulpit and the help of his Debtocrat minions, the fabrication became reality.

Enter Santa Boehner and the GOP leadership who jingled their bells and made a list of concessions (presents) for Obama. And grand presents they are.

Obama gets an immediate $900 billion increase on his credit limit……now, today. Obama gets another increase on his credit limit next year without asking for it. Obama and the Debtocrats get a shot at increasing revenue through taxation via the super-committee established by the “compromise” agreement. Obama gets a special extra gift in that if the super-committee cannot agree on spending cuts, automatic across-the-board cuts are mandated that will cause hardship to many that can then be attributed to those “tea party terrorists.”

What did Santa get? He got spending cuts of about $21 billion this year and about $46 billion next year and a commitment for an up or down vote on a Balanced Budget Constitutional Amendment. (There is no real possibility that the super-committee will agree on the 2nd installment of  spending cuts.) That’s it, folks.

The elves helped Santa Boehner by voting for this disaster despite the fact that they were elected to bring common sense economic and monetary policy to Washington. We did not elect conservatives to compromise, we elected them to stand up for limited government and to halt the unrestrained spending in Washington. All that voted for this “compromise” have failed their constituency and will likely pay the price in 2012. They have provided Obama with a clear path to re-election in 2012. They have compromised their promise to their supporters. If I hear one more time that this “compromise” was not the best deal but the best deal we could get, I think I will vomit. Spin it as they will but they have become part of the problem.

I have provided a list below of the Republicans that recognized that this was nothing but a sellout to Obama and the Debtocrats. I realize that some of them are RINOs but at least they recognized the damage that it will enable.
