Conservative Christian thought seems to be fading from the political scene. That might be about to change.
In the South Dakota Republican Party, charges of corruption and political “bullying” have been compounded by an apparent departure from conservative Christian principles. A VOTING REPORT CARD done recently shows that many Republicans… most notably leadership… voted AGAINST Republican Party platform principles 60-75% of the time.
Conservative Christians have been in the minority in the state Republican-controlled Legislature. Recent charges of what some have called “the worst abuse of authority in decades”, has VOTERS ACROSS THE STATE SAYING THEY HAVE HAD ENOUGH!
In a poll commissioned by the Life and Liberty Group, a near unanimous consensus is that South Dakotans want to replace liberal/moderate Republicans with conservative Christians.
Tea Party groups, churches and conservatives statewide are coming together to replace these liberal/moderate Republicans who have become intoxicated with power and abandoned party principles. The Life and Liberty Group has been asked to serve as a resource for a pool of conservative Christian candidates.
The Life and Liberty Group will help to recruit, train and support conservative Christian candidates. That fits well with the LLG mission statement, “to promote conservative Christian principles”.

At the national level we understand (not accept) how politics is corrupted – so much money and as someone once said: “the love of political office weakens most men” However, when the corruption and bullying is right in our own backyard, it is so much less acceptable. This is OUR state and we the people are supposed to choose Representatives that honor our will and follow the Constitution and the Constitution of the State. Where do these leaders get off blacklisting or punishing those whom they deem “too conservative”
As Gordon says, it IS time for those with good Christian values to run for office. We need to replace those who think they run the show. Yes, you can run — yes, you can be effective in helping our State get out from under the thumb of the Federal Government. South Dakota needs to stand on its own and wean itself from the Government teat. Are we sissies or do we have bad legislators? I tend to think we have bad legislators. I hate to use CHANGE because our President slaughtered that word so much — but we do need change — a change for good. With your help and the help of God, those changes can come about — Run For Office

I see half of my team in 33 is working out well. I dont know how many people can take the time off to do represent us. They log hundreds of hours in Pierre, and hundreds more throughout the year. Gotta have a thick skin, and uncompromising principles. Hard to find people like this.
