A NUGGET OF ADVICE FROM GLENN BECK

Glenn Beck came to Rapid City today. He came to support the Constitution Challenge being developed by the South Dakota Tea Party Alliance and to begin his promotional tour for his new book entitled “BROKE“.

If you missed his performance, it’s your loss.

A very dear friend of mine purchased the book for me, signed by Mr. Beck. Thanks, Peach!!!  Tonight I began reading it. I suspect you will be reading about some of its content here in the days to come.

Here’s the first nugget worth noting. “The time for trusting others in government based on a ‘D’ or an ‘R’ has long since passed. Trust yourself. Trust your neighbors. Live your life the right way and prepare to witness miracles. God is not done with freedom, and neither am I”

Thanks, Glenn.

And special thanks to BigHorn Canyon, LLC for making this visit possible.

Pelosi and Obama are worthless. The neglect of the states along the border – especially Arizona – 0 and his band of crooks should be embarrassed… if the newly elected cannot fix the mess along the borders, toss out any illegals – period… then we need to stop paying all political paychecks.. Promises unkept – NO PAY. NO TOYS..

So far I don’t know any more balanced channel then FOX unless you prefer Goerbel’s type of propaganda like NPR MSNBC CNN or ABC. they all count on “a lie repeated 100 times, in 101 time it becomes a truth (Herman Goering)

What is wrong with some of you people? I don’t get it! Why would you want to extend the Bush tax cuts to the highest earning (2-3%) to the wealthy? It’s been proven that these individuals do not re-invest in this Country. If anything they take their dollars and invest in other countries and with goes millions of jobs with it! Haven’t they stuffed their pockets enough and why do you support this, unless you people make more than $250,000/yr. You fools remind me when Hitler was in power and the have not’s followed him as well.

    Ind.,
How interesting that you suggest BigHorn is guilty of pushing a “diguised” religious agenda, while you are hiding behind a mask. (Happy Holloween)
There is nothing hidden about our agenda. Look at our mission statement. It is very clear and available for everyone to see. The only one hiding here is you! Tell me again why you don’t have the courage to disclose your identity! Let me hear your excuses…. Obviously, if you were man (or woman) enough to stand up for your convictions, you would also have to be accountable. How convenient for you to keep hiding so you can take cheap shots and make false accusations against those of us who have the courage of our convictions!

I have the right to post anonymously. Good luck with your Big Horn project. It’s nothing more than a precursor for a religious agenda, and you know it. There, do you like that word better? Can you now focus on the issues instead of my identity? I mean really, how old are you? You’re acting like a school yard kid with the challenge to my “Manhood” or “Womanhood.” That’s just silly.

By the way, this Tuesday, I will be voting anonymously in the privacy of my voting booth, just like I did in the S.D. gubernatorial primary, And since we’re discussing political issues here, I thought perhaps you could make the connection.

I suspect no one is more amazed then Beck himself, that so many people are willing to pay him so much money, he is now a very wealthy man, and actually believe he is anything other than a spokesman, a showman, an actor putting on a presentation. I’d love to see Bill Maher and Glen Beck tangle live on air. I’d pay a fair price to see that show. But in the end neither man will affect the way I vote, because I’m a patriot, capable of using the mind God gave me to decide how to vote without assistance from talking heads on either the right or left.

I was blessed to be able to attend this function with my dad, Mike Verchio. Glenn Beck is a man of integrity and I thank him for his part in waking up this wonderful country of ours! Thank you for bringing Glenn to Rapid City!

Are Mormons truly considered to be Christians? I classified them as such once and a Christian quickly corrected me, pointing out Joseph Smith Jr. was a mortal man and could not supplant Jesus Christ, as Mormons believe he did.

Nope, just curious. Are Mormons Christians? I’m mainly wondering about Mormons like Glen Beck. Does belief in Joseph Smith Jr. as the Divine Prophet amount to blasphemy?

I’m just curious too about your pre-occupation with Mormons.

It has to do with why fundamentalist Christians embrace someone who doesn’t believe Jesus Christ is the definitive messenger from God, chosing instead to elevate Joseph Smith Jr. to that position? I find it extremely hypocritical, and can’t make sense of it.

I confess that I am no expert in the teachings and beliefs of the Mormons so I will not comment.

Mormons believe Joseph Smith Jr. received God’s word in NY state, on golden tablets, in roughly 1830. They believe the Book of Mormon is God’s definitive word, and the Smith is God’s most recent and most significant prophet, perhaps more significant than Jesus Christ. Shouldn’t you check up on the religion of a guy like Beck before you just follow him?

I don’t “follow Beck”. There is only one Shepherd I follow, Jesus Christ. Seems you have spent much energy and effort to read the Book of Mormon but not the New Testament. I find that rather strange.

I’ve not read the entire book of Mormon. I foundwhat I read less credible than the “New Testament.” Joseph Smith Jr. was a con man and a thief in my opinion. I find it very hypocritical fundementalists like Beck, a man who believes Joseph Smith Jr. is on par with the likes of Jesus.

Exactly. So why do Christian fundementalists support Glen Beck, a Mormon?

That’s silly. I respect my faith, and the true faith of others. I don’t respect those who claim they have faith, and falsely support their claims in part by judging the faith of others, by denouncing the faith of others while professing theirs is the only true faith in God. And for the record, God rejects such intolerance too.

  11. October 26, 2010 at 9:42 pm

Yes, the folks at Big Horn and so many organizations made this great day possible. Thanks also for your hard work, Ed, and the dozens of volunteers who made come off fantastic!

The folks at Big Horn are merely pushing a disguised religious agenda. Constitutional law, the Framing, everything related to our Founders, the Constitution and Declaration is studied in virtually every public school and is available in any public library, and has been taught in our schools for hundreds of years. The history of our Supreme Court is relevant, and is also readily available anywhere. The fundementalists at Big Horn are attempintg to distort the facts and re-write history. They will fail miserably. If any such attempt is made to further a disguised religious agenda in any public schools, the Supreme Court will speak swiftly and loudly in admonishing those who continue to try and circumvent our Constitution and inject their religous agendas and dogma into our schools and government. It is their Constitutional duty.
