Governor Daugaard is NOT telling South Dakotans the whole story.
And the truth is… He is implementing ObamaCare in South Dakota,
while enjoying the political cover of “not implementing a state health exchange”. Instead of a state exchange, he is simply co-operating directly with the Federal government.
Here is information from HealthCare.gov that confirms what he is doing with the $7 million ObamaCare dollars:
Supporting South Dakota’s work on Affordable Insurance Exchanges South Dakota has received $6 ,879,569 in grants for research, planning, information technology development, and implementation of Affordable Insurance Exchanges.
- $1,000,000 in Planning Grants: This grant provides South Dakota the resources needed to conduct the research and planning necessary to build a better health insurance marketplace and determine how its exchange will be operated and governed.
- $5,879,569 in Exchange Establishment Grants: These grants are helping States continue their work to implement key provisions of the Affordable Care Act.
Did you catch that last sentence??….

The governor has spent at least the first million. Have you noticed the absolute silence from the governor about the remaining $5.8 million?? Make no mistake, he is quietly joined at the hip with Obama to bring government-run health care to South Dakota.
