100 Percent Effort

Laziness is a scourge of society.

It seems to me as government provides more those that receive (despite their capabilities) feel ever more so entitled to what they are getting even to the point often of desiring additional amounts of help. If we or anyone we know has fallen in to that mindset we need to remind them and ourselves what God would have us understand.

We are told in Eccl. 9:10 that any activity we have before us, and certainly there is always something that needs doing, it should be done with all our might. That might or power that lies within us as long as we have breath is either physical (body), intellectual (soul) or spiritual (spirit).Whichever it might be that is necessary at a given point or time is to be used to our maximum capability. The reason being there might be no tomorrow for us on this planet and I believe God wants us to bring all skill, knowledge and wisdom with us to heaven as our verse for today says once death occurs we end those opportunities to grow.

Colossians 3:17 also reminds us that WHATEVER we do it should be done to God’s glory. Not so that we are glorified or bring attention to our selves but rather point to Him Who created us. When we do this and serve the Lord with all fervor it is then we are following the Commandments and God’s plan for us. It is for these reasons we must always give 100 PERCENT EFFORT.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:  Earnest effort edifies and has eternal benefits.

DEVOTIONAL VERSE FOR TODAY:  Eccl. 9:10  “how to approach life’s tasks”.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:  Lord strengthen me to give maximum effort in all I do for You.

QUESTIONS TO THINK ABOUT:

1. Explain the meaning of “who shall not work shall not eat”?

2. How do we overcome an entitlement mindset?

3. What is the driving force behind what you do?

4. Do you give thanks to God for all He has set before you?
