Is IRS Censorship Coming to a Church Near You?

IRS DONKEYObama’s relentless attack on religious freedom continues with his favorite enforcers, the IRS, poised to begin the crackdown on Christians.

Surprising? Not at all.

According to the atheist group Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), an agreement has been reached with IRS that the beloved Obama enforcer will abandon its policy of non-enforcement of 501(c)(3) regulations on churches. The agreement reached July 17 between the atheist group and the IRS has not been made public. Nor has the IRS stated what new protocols or provisions it agreed to follow in enforcing the tax code.

But FFRF could not apparently contain its glee and on July 13, 2014 issued a statement from the God hater’s president Annie Laurie Gaylor as follows:

“This is a victory, and we’re pleased with this development in which the IRS has proved to our satisfaction that it now has in place a protocol to enforce its own anti-electioneering provisions.”

As far as I can discern, the only impediment to the beginning of IRS hostilities is the fact that the IRS has suspended all examinations of tax-exempt organizations for alleged political activities, the tea party scandal. Until the IRS has satisfied congressional overseers that objective procedures are firmly in place with regard to political activities by all tax-exempt organizations, the secret agreement cannot be implemented.

Tempers will flare again soon as Pulpit Freedom Sunday approaches. Pastors, the enforcers will be coming soon but give no quarter to the enemies of God. I offer this:

Ephesians 6:10-18

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

AMEN.
