Has America developed a political “caste” system?

It would appear to be so.

Three caste categories have been created over time: Liberal Democrat, Establishment Republican and Independent.

If you watch the news or read the political blogs, you will see that the strong presence is no longer “right” and “left”, it is “left” and “moderate” (Establishment Republican).  There are certainly some organizations and publications which present an Independent or Conservative perspective, but they are in the weak minority.

Money, power and media hold this “caste” system in place.

Independents and conservatives seem to have no place to go.  They are so vastly outnumbered (or so it seems) that there is little hope for change.  Both the Democrat and Republican parties are home to these outcasts (Independents and conservatives), but you rarely see them in any position of authority within the respective parties these days.

The liberal Democrats and Establishment Republicans have simply seized control of the media and the message at a State and National level.  The message is “more tax, increased government spending, restrictions on freedom, more regulation and less room for dissention”.

Is there a way out?  Maybe.

First, we need to understand the problem.  We might gain some insight from history.  Theholocaustexplained.org provides an interesting reminder of how Hitler controlled a nation:

In 1929, Hitler chose Josef Goebbels as his Minister of Propaganda. Goebbels developed extremely successful campaigns using simple slogans and images repeated over and again in order to win public support for the party. The Nazis spent huge sums on newspapers, leaflets and poster campaigns.

Once the Nazis came to power Goebbels developed the Nazi’s use of propaganda to even greater effect. He orchestrated large political military ‘rallies’ to build support. These were vast, highly organised events with banners and marching bands. Using his own skills of oratory Hitler appealed to the patriotism of the German people.
Control of the mass media was at the heart of Goebbels plan as he developed the cult of personality around Hitler. The rallies and Hitler’s speeches were broadcast on radio, purchased very cheaply as they were produced by the state.

Sound familiar?  Control of the mass media was at the heart of the plan.

Independents and Conservatives will have to develop a plan to infuse the media with a reasoned, appealing and consistent message.  At present, the best we do is take potshots from the bushes.  The message has been marginalized and silenced.  If the Independent and Conservative message is not delivered to the masses, there will continue to be ONE message.  It will continue to be controlled by the Liberal Democrats and Establishment Republicans… who are firmly in charge of the media.

If there is any hope of breaking the political Caste system in America, it has to begin by effectively delivering the Independent message.  That will require unity and cooperation between Independents and Conservatives.
