He represents what is wrong with BOTH parties.
Asserting his “claim” to be a conservative, McCarthy offers a partisan example of how he would run the House.
The Benghazi committee has done commendable work under the leadership of Rep. Trey Gowdy. McCarthy impugned the credibility of Gowdy and the committee with his comments. Rep. Gowdy is a fair minded Congressman in search of the truth. He is not a partisan hack.
Rep. Gowdy seems to be the kind of statesman who lets the truth lead to its own conclusion. McCarthy, on the other hand, appears to be more interested in the destruction of a Democrat. Wouldn’t it be refreshing to have a majority in both parties who were more concerned about the truth than their own political gain or that of their party? Honorable Republicans and Democrats should insist on that kind of leadership.
McCarthy doesn’t meet that requirement.
