Like I Said, Cruz Wins Iowa

I told you so.

Now, on to New Hampshire.

What do the Iowa results mean for the candidates, as they move forward?

Cruz 28%  is well positioned, going into New Hampshire and beyond.  Unless he were to lose significantly there, which is highly unlikely, he is in it for the long haul.

Trump 24% needs to win New Hampshire to remain relevant in this race.

Rubio 23% may not do as well in New Hampshire, where Kasich is poised to eat his lunch.

Carson 9% could stay in for awhile, but not long unless something changes.  His support has slipped in the last few weeks.

Paul 5%, Bush 3%, Huckabee 2%, Fiorina 2%, Kasich 2%, Christie 2%, Santorum 1%, Gilmore.  This group of candidates REALLY need a New Hampshire miracle to survive.  It is likely that half or more of these candidates will end their campaigns soon, some before New Hampshire.  Huckabee has already suspended his campaign.

The field has narrowed to 3 or 4 candidates.New Hampshire voters will help determine WHICH 3 or 4.  What might be the most significant is that over 60% of the votes were cast for outsiders.

The new battle will continue to emerge…

The battle between the establishment (Rubio)and the conservative (Trump).

note:  the vote totals shown here reflect 99% of the votes having been counted.  They numbers may change slightly, but not enough to change the outcome.
