Chris Wallace played a round of “gotcha” with Vice Presidential nominee Mike Pence.

Pence won the game handily.

The media has had a filed day bashing Donald Trump.  Some of it has been deserved.  Much of it has also been misrepresentation of facts and unfair “journalism”.  When Wallace attempted to perpetuate the media hype against Trump, Pence did an excellent job of staying on message and responding with reasoned, rational answers.

I heard Pence speak a few years ago at a Values Voter conference.  He gave a clear, powerful conservative message.  During this election cycle, Pence hasn’t been given many opportunities to shine.  Portrayals of him have shown him as, shall we say, less than an exiting, charismatic leader.  One thing the Wallace interview did do was give America an opportunity to see some of what Pence is really made of.  He isn’t exactly Mr. excitement.  He is, however, a very believable and likable leader with a pretty good resume of political performance.

I am not wholeheartedly on the Trump team.  My conflict and concerns still weigh heavily enough that I am undecided.  Pence does help reduce my reluctance, even though there is still a way to go before I get there.  I just wish the Republican ticket could be reversed, with Pence at the top.

IF… I vote for the Republican ticket, it will probably be a vote for Pence.
