Unseen adversaries walk among us.

I am not talking about Casper the Friendly Ghost.  These invisible agents of wickedness are fallen angels, who joined Satan in his rebellion against God.  They are now “on assignment” to do his bidding.  They are not “helpful” or “friendly”.  Their mission is simple… “Kill, steal and destroy” (John 10:10).  Although they sometimes take a visible form, don’t think because you can’t see them that they are not real.  You don’t see oxygen, but you can’t live without it.  It’s very real, even though it isn’t visible.  So are demons.

That’s the bad news.  Don’t let it keep you up at night though.  There is good news.

Angels are also real.  Although there are times when they can be seen, for the most part they do their work under the cover of invisibility.  They are dispatched to serve and protect (Hebrews1:14).  They also outnumber demons by at least two to one.  Additionally, they have the power of God on their side.

Their are two other weapons believers have against the assault of demon spirits; The Name of Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  Demons are subject to the Name of Jesus.  When believers use their authority in the Name of Jesus, demons have no choice but to obey.  Jesus also sent the Holy Spirit to empower believers.  We have authority over ALL the power of the enemy.

If you are not a believer (someone who has been ‘born again’ by accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior) you don’t have protection against these demon spirits.  You can change that (right now) with three simple steps.  A. Admit you are a sinner.  B. Believe Jesus died for your sins.  C.  Confess Him as your personal Savior.

Now, read the instruction manual (The Bible).  It will instruct you and empower you to live a new life…

… AND exercise your authority over demon spirits.
