Governor Kasich Vetoes Pro Life Bill

I’m thankful he won’t be our next Commander in Chief.

The Legislature in Ohio passed a bill which would have protected unborn children after their heart is beating.  Governor Kasich said it was “in the public interest” to veto the bill.  He argued that it would have created a long and expensive court challenge.  I would argue that fighting to stop the killing of unborn children is a battle worth fighting.

The Governor did sign a bill that bans abortion after the child has been living in the womb for 5 months.  I’m thankful for that, but wonder what divine wisdom the Governor possesses that compels him to think killing an unborn child at 1 1/2 months is somehow more acceptable and “in the public interest”.  It causes me to wonder what that magical date might be, when the Governor would determine the child is worthy of life.

When so many families are wanting to adopt a child, isn’t there a better choice for an expectant mother than killing her own child?  How can a civilized society continue to kill its own children?  Do we, like the Governor, think it is “in the public interest”?  Seriously, can’t we find a way to HELP expectant mothers in crisis?

Mother Teresa said, “By abortion, the mother does not learn to love, but kills even her own child to solve her problems.”  It’s time we helped women find other ways to solve their problems.

Governor Kasich, you will be held accountable.
