As if California were not already far enough left…
The California State Senate has passed legislation that would make the entire state a sanctuary for illegal, criminal immigrants.
The bill clearly defies Federal immigration law, and sets the stage for a shoot out with the Federal Government over illegal immigrants.

The bill has to clear the State Assembly next, but that will probably happen. Then it would have to be signed by Governor Jerry Brown. No problem there.
California’s battle with the Feds probably won’t be a battle with bullets. The Federal Government’s biggest gun in this battle may be Federal money. Over $93 Billion dollars is sent to California from the Federal Government each year.
Beyond the fiscal insanity of this fight, one has to wonder just why California is so intent on protecting criminal illegals. It does seem to line up with the leftist doctrine of many (most) leftists all over the country.
It just doesn’t make sense on any level.

An important post, Gordon, so thanks. When I look at a US map, I note that if Californians move farther left, they’ll be in deep water. The culture there is self-defeating and suicidal, with little awareness of the doom that awaits their experiments in social engineering.
