Voters in Rapid City, South Dakota have an UNUSUAL opportunity in the race for Area 5 School Board.

Tonchi Weaver

Here is some information about her you should know before you vote:

Tonchi Weaver spearheaded the successful wheel tax referendum, saving taxpayers millions of dollars.
She pays her own way as a Citizen Lobbyist in Pierre advocating for families, parents, students and taxpayers.
During the legislative session, Tonchi sits at her computer into the wee hours of the morning reading legislation after working a full day as a mail carrier. (Many LEGISLATORS don’t even bother to do that)
Tonchi Weaver uses days off and vacation time to lobby in Pierre for families and taxpayers on education bills and other important topics.
She testifies in committee hearings during the legislative session and writes detailed commentary on the bills to help others stay informed.
Tonchi Weaver has a working relationship with several legislators and helps them write bills that support parents rights, protect children and support quality education.
Tonchi attends RCAS Board meetings and advocates for quality education in RC schools.
Tonchi Weaver facilitated a lawsuit challenging SD participation in the Common Core aligned Testing Consortium; the legal action is presently on its way to the Supreme Court.
She was a member of the committee which successfully referred the RCAS Board’s Opt-Out Tax to the voters who resoundingly rejected it.

This isn’t just another “political endorsement”. I am wholeheartedly supporting Tonchi Weaver because I have known her personally for years. Her integrity is simply above reproach. She has worked tirelessly on important issues without looking for any recognition. I would trust my grandchildren in her care and supervision any day. You could too. In fact, when we vote for School Board, that is exactly what we are doing.
