South Dakota Officials remain silent.
They have repeatedly been invited to refute ANY of the claims made by Dr. Aanning. After extensive investigation, Dr. Aanning has uncovered information which causes him to accuse State Officials of lying, misrepresenting facts and cover-up in the death of this teen-age boy.

Seventeen-Year Old Brady Folkens’ Death While In Juvenile Detention In South Dakota
This is Report #4: We believe the state authorities of South Dakota violated Dawn Folkens Van Ballegooyen’s custody of her son to cover up the real reason for Brady’s terminal illness on 21 December 2013.
Here’s Why:
-
Despite being noted for his well manners and cooperativeness, Brady Folkens was manacled as he left the Star Academy for the Custer hospital. He had felt unwell and sick the previous four days. The manacles were removed in the ER.
Realizing something was not right, the doctor transferred Brady to Avera McKennon Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
-
During this time, Brady’s mother received a phone call from the South Dakota Department of Corrections: was it “OK” to return Brady to her custody? Very distraught and anxious not to let them take Brady away from her again, she immediately agreed.
-
Brady was unresponsive and on life support when his mother arrived in the ICU at Avera McKennon Hospital. He died without ever knowing his mother was right there, four days before Christmas at 11:30 on 21 December 2013.
-
The doctor asked Dawn if she wanted an autopsy. “Yes,” Dawn replied, “but I don’t want it done at this hospital.” She was never asked to sign any autopsy consent form. And no physician ever reached out to Brady’s mother after he died.
-
Dawn waited and waited for an autopsy report. The other hospital denied getting any request for an autopsy. Finally, the coroner returned her call: the autopsy had been done at Avera McKennon Hospital, despite her pleas.
-
The Avera McKennon Hospital pathologist had dictated in his autopsy report that Dawn had signed the consent form: a flat-out lie. Dawn had never spoken to this pathologist before, or since.
-
As a final flat-out lie, the pathologist, without any evidence, blamed Brady’s death on a virus when, in fact, we have ample evidence Brady died from an unusual reaction to minocycline, an antibiotic.
Finally, Brady’s mother had regained custody of her son just before he died. Nevertheless, the South Dakota state authorities and Avera McKennon Hospital defied and violated Dawn’s custody rights in order to cover up the real cause of, and the responsibility for, Brady Folkens’ death.
Had Brady Folkens’ autopsy been done solely with his mother’s authorization at another hospital center, without sovereign oversight by state authorities, we believe that an honest pathologist would never have supported a cover-up and falsely stated Brady had a virus infection.
