It depends completely on who you believe, the Left or the Right.

Facts don’t matter at this point.

Conservative news proclaims President Trump vindicated and Comey guilty.

Leftist news declares Comey the hero and Trump the villain.

In the end, facts and truth may matter… to some.  In my observations I have seen Leftist routinely ignoring and denying facts and truth when they don’t lead to the conclusion they prefer.  If the facts indict the conservative, the Left cheers.  If the facts prove the conservative is innocent, the Left ignores the facts and invents their own “truth”.

Conservatives are much more willing to follow the facts even when they indict one of their own.

When the shoe is on the other foot, the behavior is much the same.  If the facts demonstrate corruption or malfeasance of a Leftist (say, Hillary Clinton), the Left deflects, denies and defends, ignoring the facts and the truth.

The “truth” you believe could be an indication of the agenda you support.  It is a given that some on the left and the right will actually let the truth lead wherever it goes, but for most everything “depends” on your personal world view.

Scripture gives some insight to this conundrum.  2 Thess. 2:11 says, “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie”.

Ronald Reagan understood this problem when he said, “It isn’t so much that liberals are ignorant. It’s just that they know so many things that aren’t so.”
