2018 Luncheon to Honor World War II Veterans on May 15

The opportunities to honor World War II veterans are fewer and fewer each year.  As with those who served in World War I, the time will soon come when there will be none left.  So for the fifth year now, WWII veterans (and attending family member) will be treated to a free luncheon at the TREA Building in Rapid City on Tuesday, May 15, starting about 10 AM.

Event organizer and USAF veteran Bill Casper says that “we owe our veterans a deep respect for their service to our country. This is my way to honor my uncle who was killed on Christmas Day in the Battle of the Bulge. And also to honor every World War II veteran I can get my hands on. I think they deserve every chance we get to honor them. There are not many left in South Dakota.”
