Longhorn Cow Sets 2nd World Record

You may recall that 3S Danica sold for $380,000.00

That was in early 2017.  It was a world record sales price for a Texas Longhorn cow.  She was 3 years old at the time.  Bill and Judy Meridith, of Tallgrass Cattle Company were the buyers.

They have been watching carefully as her horns continued to grow.  Today, she became the first Texas Longhorn cow to reach 100″ tip to tip horn measurement.  Joe Sedlacek, of Lazy J Longhorns gave this report on his facebook page:

“….this morning Ethan Loos and I got to stop in to Bill and Judy Meridiths ranch to measure 3S Danica! She as you all remember sold last year for a record setting $380,000!!! We are proud to announce for Bill and Judy that the industry has it’s first 100″ tip to tip breeding female!! Could not be happier for Bill and Judy. They have been measuring her every week the last few weeks she was 99 3/4 over a week ago and came in at exactly 100″ today!!!

Longhorn lovers everywhere are cheering over this new landmark for the Texas Longhorn breed.  Obviously, not everyone will own a 100″ Longhorn cow.  They will, however, continue to work diligently in their own herd to advance the breed by focusing on three of the top objectives in the breed…

… Color, conformation, and yes…. HORN!!
